This is probably the best restaurant in Telemark. We participated in an event called Winemaker's dinner, and were treated to a five course dinner accompanied by wines from a specific winery, where the producers actually were there to tell you about the wines - great initiative and very good wines, considering the price.
The food was delicious. Very delicate and unusual compositions, all made from local produce, mostly organic, of very high quality. The accompanying wines were a match made in heaven. The portions are not large, but they do not need to when you have five courses (plus an appetizer).
The restaurant was completely sold out on the evening, so the reason I do not rate this restaurant to a 5/5, is that service was a bit slow, and that we were completely neglected after the last course was put on the table. Also, our waitress really did not provide much information about the food. I do however, suspect that it has something to do with the crowded state of the restaurant that night.
Overall, if you are in Skien (or Porsgrunn - it is worth the extra trip) this is THE best place for gourmet food. Highly recommended!
