“Dinner in a museum!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

This restaurant is not to be missed when visiting Oslo. The owner is obviously a collector with an amazing array of artefacts which would not go amiss in a museum.
Once the surroundings have been absorbed the food is also worth coming for. I thought my wife was re-enacting a scene from "When Harry met Sally" whilst savouring her foie gras creme brûlée starter. A main course of fish soup was delicious but was tepid rather than hot, otherwise we had no complaints.
The cost, being Norway, was of course exorbitant but in context reasonable value. Very friendly staff and efficient service.

“Great food, good service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

Had a nice meal here on a Saturday early evening. The staff were professional and the service was fast and friendly. The food was tasty and the children's menu is simple, but good. Nice atmosphere - would recommend.

“Nice central restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

As other say it's a bit like a museum but a very pleasent museum in which to eat. By Oslo standards reasonably priced. I paid 300nok for a fish soup followed by baked cod. Meat also available but this is Norway so quite a bit of fish on offer. Best thing for me is I feel comfortable eating alone as it is work that takes me to Oslo. Service was excellent.

“Beer in a class of its own aligned with tasteful food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

The menu is a surprise menu and put together from seasonal produce. They select raw materials of the best quality and preferably local Norwegian food. The servings are also based on different beers, be it in marinades, sauces, beer sorbet, beer yeast in bread and more. The beer waiter then sets the appropriate beer to the menu and the waiter tells you all about both the food and drink before each servings. A lecture in matching food and beer from all over Europe!

“Popular place for Saturday lunch and afternoon tea”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

Good food, big menu. Kinda looks like a "museum", lots of old ad signs etc hanging on the walls.
