“Quite overpriced!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2012

They Sort of trying to live up to a reputation I never experienced them to have.
Dark premises, very often crowded not leaving any privacy.
Go here for a romantic dinner only he you would like to share the romance with the table next to you...
Small dishes, service somehow efficient but no personal touch. More brisk than friendly.

“Take the trip out The inner city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2011

I live in Oslo! And even though i live across town, I often go here due to the great mix of 5 course dinners accompanied with great wine.... They are at level with the best in Scandinavia! But the "remote" location makes it a hidden gem... Takes 12 min on the tram to get there from the inner city, but totally worth it! My tip take full course plus wime menu- it will be worth it.... This resturranr if often winni g ranking in norwegian newspaper like DN ang Hegnar... Anf they deserve it. Fyi i have only used the resuturant section. No idea on the bar/cafe, sorry typos... I am usong an ipad

“Bra mat til rimelig pris”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2010

Me and my wife ate there with to friends yesterday. It is a small and very cosy place and the food is made with love and at an affordable price. We payed 345 kroner for the three cours meny of the day. Excellent starter and dessert. The main course was good, but the chicken was a bit to dry. All in all: a place I would hihgly recomend. The best restaurant in Sagene/Toshov/Sandaker.

“Excellent neighbourhood restaurant/cafe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2010

I had lunch here recently, although have been here several times. Victor is a combinaiton cafe/restaurant, with the more formal restaurant side seemingly open for dinner only, as far as I can tell. There are a few seats/tables outside but not much of a view other than a small scruffy pocket park and road with trams passing by intermittently. So little outside ambience here, the action is all inside. Interior is not fancy but tastefully done and a calm atmosphere.

I have not eaten at the restaurant but Victor's cafe menu is decently priced by Oslo standards with simple fresh, well prepared dishes. The Skagen seafood Toast in particular was very good. The wait staff are on the ball, and the kitchen seem to turn out the food pretty. Only a couple of choices for wine by the glass - there is a more extensive bottle menu - but the choices by the glass were quite good and fairly priced. Kudos to them for that. I will certainly return here. It's a bit out of the way within Oslo, in a sleepy residential neighbourhood, but a good value and well worth the visit, both for locals and tourists.

“This is where the Chefs eat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2010

At least, that is what some of the "big" chefs say! It's our favorite in Oslo, especially when we have something to celebrate - atmosphere like cozy neighbourhood bistro, excellent food, good wines, good value. It's not in the city center, but easy to reach by tram. Highly recommended!
