“Not bad, worth the money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013

We had a problem with WiFi in the lobby, so we used the Hotel's WiFi instead. The location is not far, but it's your choice to take a walk or a bus. About 5min by bus. I'd recommend you to go to the market nearby. It's small but cool.

I stayed three nights this past summer in a 8 bed dorm, location is fine but the hostel was packed and the rooms, bathroom and kitchen were all filthy! Even though It's a budget hostel, It still lacks many features and needs serious renovation! Good wi-fi though. A very important thing: sleeping bags are not allowed in order to keep it as clean as possible, which is a good thing. I can only reccomend for those on a serious budget, since there are better hostels with the same price.

I stayed here during my interrail around europe and this hostel was the worst among all the ones I used (and also the more expensive!)
The room was quite big (for 8 people) and there was a small kitchen inside the room (no shared kitchen in the hostel as usual). The internet was absolutely bad. it was "available" only in the reception area. But I was able to use it only for 5 minutes in a 3 days stay. The man at the reception told me that since it was a modem for home use, it was not able to sustain more than few people at the same time (and it's very bad for a big place like that, especially for the price I paid).
Moreover the linen were not included in the price. I chose this place only because it was the cheaper but next time I will defenetly NOT stay here again.

The hostel was ok; position is good and not far from the railway station which was a plus for us. If you can I recommend you to bring your own linens otherwise you will have to pay; there is a kitchen in every room but you have to rent everything you need for cooking (as we didn't have cash in crowns we couldn't). The structure is very big and impersonal but it is quite clean. Oslo is very expensive so by considering this the hostel is really cheap and you won't find a better accomodation if you're a budget traveller.

The hostel is situated about 10 or 12 minutes from the city centre. The staff are friendly, the people in hostel seem happy to use the hostel amenities (i.e using the laundry, lounge area) and they provide food that's not too expensive. The hostel really suits a budget traveller visiting Oslo as it seems to Market itself towards students. Would recommend it.

Decently located hostel. Short walk down into town and there is a tram stop basically out the front of the hostel itself. Good value for money. I stayed in an 8 bed dorm. Comfortable bed. Small kitchenette. Very good WiFi. Hired linen and towel. Would recommend staying here when in Oslo and on a budget as Norway is very expensive.

Stayed here in an 8 bed dorm. Decent standard and above average for hostels. Comfy beds. Our room had dividers so although not in a private room our party effectively had half the room to ourselves. There was also a small and basic kitchen in the room althogh didnt use it. Rooms, bathrooms and public areas all clean. Reception is 24hrs and they have a secure luggage store and lockers in reception, although the lockers are tiny and could not get my daypack in it. Staff were friendly and have free maps for most popular places. Well connected with bus and tram stop 20m from the entrance. Free wifi in reception too. Good value ( for Olso ) paid £22 pn. Probably one of the cheapest places to drink in Olso ( 3 beers £10 from reception ). Oslo is an eye wateringly expensive city to drink in with bars routinely charging £7-8+ a pint. You can pay less out of the centre and tourist places. Larger supermarkets are considerably cheaper but wont sell beer after 6pm. A nice city on the whole and if staying on a budget the Anker Hostel is well worth considering.

Room Tip: Cannot comment on where is best. We stayed on 2nd floor and had no noise or problems of any sort.
