As we had free entry to this museum courtesy of a visit to the Viking Ship Museum, we decided to give this place a try. Unfortunately it does not live up to the previous Viking Ship Museum. While the artifacts are laid out in chronological order, the lack of explanation in English makes this place feel like a collection of stuff rather than engaging the viewer to consider further what each exhibit is trying to tell you. And it's not a case of items just being there as effort has been taken to show artifacts and items in their natural settings - they even recreated a part of a Viking ship! But despite that, the lack of English explanation fails to ignite the enthusiasm and that's a shame as the effort in creating the exhibition displays is really very good
