“Comfortable stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012 via mobile

Stayed here on business for three nights, had a new superior room on the third floor, which was immaculately clean and modern. Became cold during the night so plugged in the portable radiator which done the trick. Staff were most helpful. Very good breakfast apart from the instant coffee. 10 mins walk into the centre, 5 min walk to theatre train station but will cost app £18 in a taxi SO BEWARE. Not a great choice of food on the bar menu but behalf decent Italian or tapas across the road

I stayed here only for one night.
Big, busy hotel.

Had a business room. Comfy bed, free movie channels and nespresso machine to use.
To room was bit cold even though the temperature was on max.
Bathroom spacious with lovely underfloor heating.
Bath nice and big to relax in.

Oslo is a expensive country so the hotel food drinks too.
Fish and chips in the bar was lovely.

Short but enjoyable stay.
Would recommend it.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor room so you got a view.

This hotel is large, cold and impersonal. The rooms don't live up to the promise of the lobby. I paid extra for a room on 22nd floor. The room was musty and I had to air it even though it was snowing. The room was dark with insufficient light except over the desk. The bed was OK except there were only 2 thin pillows and the eiderdown was very narrow and didn't cover the bed. Had 2 people shared the room, one would have been very cold. The maid who came to service the room was having phone sex on her mobile which was glued to her ear. It sent me flying out of the room and I waited it out downstairs.

Room Tip: Bring your own bed linen.

The hotel is enormous with few working elevators to serve the rooms. The normal rooms are small with no real cupboards and sub-standards bathrooms needing renovations. I upgraded to a business class room which was adequate with a good view of the city. The restaurant gets crowded for breakfast but the selection for breakfast is good. I was extremely pleased with the ser vice of the Concierge who was extremely resourceful in identifying good and properly priced restaurants (a challenge in this super expensive city). Overall a good choice for meetings but definitely not a place with charm or any romantic atmosphere for tourists.

Room Tip: Take a deluxe high floor room, corner room far from the elevators (had to change room because of the...

Recommended by a colleague I stayed at this hotel for one night. It is a decent hotel, the staff are friendly, the rooms are comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was quite decent. The pub/restaurant had a good atmosphere but food was only average. The top floor bar has a super view over the city - very nice. Didn't try restaurant as prices were inflated. Surrounding area did not appear to have that much going for it - I have stay in nicer parts of Oslo and I did not feel it was good value for money overall.

Fabulous a hotel and great location. Staff were so friendly and helpful. We were able to check in quite early which was great. Breakfast was superb giving
such a choice. Overall lovely atmosphere to hotel great sky bar on 34th floor. Lovely pool as well tho didn't have our swimming gear with us. So disappointing!!! Oslo is a beautiful city and certainly worth a visit. If you go..... Then stay at the Radisson Blu Plaza. Just lovely.

Room Tip: If you are going to Oslo stay at this hotel

Stayed here for 3 days in June 2012. Radisson Blu is centrally located, and near it are many other hotels of similar quality.

Within close walking distance is the Oslo S (sentralstasjon, train station), the iceberg-shaped opera house, cafes, and restaurants. A few more minutes of leisurely walk carries you to Stortinget (the parliament), Oslo City Hall (where they give away Nobel prizes) and other attractions.

From the airport you can take the express to Oslo S, then walk to this hotel over a bridge. But, if you have luggage, or if it is raining, this hotel is not as convenient and more distant than other good hotels in front of Oslo S and on the Opera House side of Oslo S.

The hotel is a high rise, built in a modern style. The rooms are functional but small and tightly packed with an office desk, a bed, TV stand and chairs. The views are okay and nothing to write home about. In room internet connection was fast and reliable. The bathroom is small, has a shower in tub. Outside the hotel, as with many parts of Oslo, be prepared for graffiti and homeless people asking for some change.

The general facilities, such as pool etc, are simple, but functional.

The breakfast is served on the 2nd floor. It includes cold and hot buffet. Go early if you want to avoid crowds. Folks are friendly, and during busy hours, expect that friendly smiling strangers may join you at your table to finish their breakfast. The buffet is fresh and good.

Restaurants nearby are mostly fast food type and expensive. Some very good restaurants, including those Michelin rated, are within walking distance (few minutes taxi ride). Maaemo and Statholdergaarden are the two I tried - highly recommended.

This is not a fancy hotel, just a functional, get ready, go about your daily business type.
