“Nice surprise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2013 via mobile

Enjoyed the museum very much! Great things to look at! Staff was extremely nice and helpful, as well as knowledgeable! Enjoyed the Afghanistan section and the little area on Vikings. It was free and worth the time!

“Upscaled”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2013 via mobile

Very nice little museum. We have visited here before and they were remodeling this time. This is the cleanest museum that I have ever visited. It can be a bit hard to find since it is off the beaten path, but if you ask, the locals know exactly how to give you easy directions to follow. I have updated the coordinates several times, but it doesn't seem to update.

The staff wasn't as friendly as the first few visits, but I think that was because they have a lot going on with the remodeling. There really are a lot of areas to see, but maybe a bit much on the swords and guns. They are nice, but there are a LOT of them. Perhaps they will put a few other historical items in its place to create more variety. Nice displays of the aviation and nautical items.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this museum to visit. You won't be disappointed and it is a great place to spend a few hours reviewing history.

“Best deal in Oslo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2013

This museum is completely free and open to the public. It has great displays in Norwegian and English that show 700 years of military history. They have a wonderful modern exhibit heralding he Norwegian contribution to the NATO operation in Afghanistan.

“Plenty for the kids to play with”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

Kids thought the tank and the coastguard boat were "awesome" - plenty of fun exhibits for them to touch and play on. And it's free - a rarity in Oslo.
