Owner description: The Vigeland Park is the world's largest sculpture park made by a single artist, and is one of Norway's most popular tourist attractions. The park is open to visitors all year round. The unique sculpture park is Gustav Vigeland's lifework with more than 200 sculptures in bronze, granite and wrought iron. Vigeland was also in charge of the design and architectural layout of the park. The Vigeland Park was mainly completed between 1939 and 1949. Most of the sculptures are placed in five units along an 850 meter long axis: The Main gate, the Bridge with the Children's playground, the Fountain, the Monolith plateau and the Wheel of Life.

“aquired taste”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013

was ok if your into lots of weirdly proportioned statues with the manhood out.
on a non arty front the park itself is stunning and gives a very nice open and relaxing feel after a days walk around the city.

“Amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

Wondering around in this facinating sculpture park is just amazing. Spme og the sculptures are interacting with people and it is possible to take some very special photos. Highly recommendable sight in Oslo. Tram stops right in front of the main entrance, otherwise use the metro til "Majorstuen" and walk 300 m.

Really unique installations in a beautifully cared for park - worth going there for a stroll on a sunny day :)

“my favorite place for jogging!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

I jogg almost once a week and Vigeland Park is my best place in the city to jogg! it's also a nice place for socializing and barbeque in Summer when the weather is nice. The sculpture is an other story!

This park is simply the most important park in Norway and a MUST to visit when you're in Oslo.

“Fascinating unusual attraction which is free”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

This is a truly awe inspiring sight being surrounded by these complex large statues in a parkland setting and its free. I would also visit the associated museum across the road which explains how the statues were commissioned and constructed for which there is an admission charge although its free with Oslo card
