Owner description: The Vigeland Park is the world's largest sculpture park made by a single artist, and is one of Norway's most popular tourist attractions. The park is open to visitors all year round. The unique sculpture park is Gustav Vigeland's lifework with more than 200 sculptures in bronze, granite and wrought iron. Vigeland was also in charge of the design and architectural layout of the park. The Vigeland Park was mainly completed between 1939 and 1949. Most of the sculptures are placed in five units along an 850 meter long axis: The Main gate, the Bridge with the Children's playground, the Fountain, the Monolith plateau and the Wheel of Life.

Fascinating place to visit. Can easily spend hours wandering around and on a nice day great place to just sit outside and enjoy Oslo.

“Unique sculpture collection and gardens”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2013

gardens are lovely; sculpture collection is massive and beautifully situated on hilly manicured grounds This artist 's work is not seen outside Norway. The art itself will provoke discussion and some polarized viewpoints.

“city retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2013

What an amazing park smack in the middle of Oslo. It is peaceful, it is big, it has beautiful trees and flowers and Vigeland's sculptures are so beautiful and so well placed. It was a lovely way to end a day in Oslo. Or one could start with a beautiful run or walk through the Park.

“Lovely walk in the park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2013

Amazing sculptures of family. Lots of places to sit and contemplate. In August filled with bus loads of tourists. In addition to the sculptures the flower gardens are impressive, especially the roses
