Great location, great food, very clean...

BUT a veeeery tiny (single) room with no place to hang up your coat, store away shoes, no table whatsoever to put your keys, mobile phone, etc. I had a view toward the back, which was good when it comes to silence, but not so good because there is an office building across on the other side which means that privacy could be an issue if you do not close the curtains...

The Clarion Collection Hotel Christina Teater is centrally located. Close to the harbor, City Hall, Palace, Noble Peace Building, shopping and entertainment. With breakfast and dinner included in our stay (October 20 tnrough 26, 2014) you couldn't beat the price. The food was fabulous and the hotel staff were wonderful. With the addition of the small coffee area with treats throughout the day makes this a hotel we will stay at again during our next visit to Oslo.

It does not really look like a hotel from the outside and it is indeed an old cinema having being converted into a hotel.

It has a very central location in the middle of everything and a certain old world charm.

The breakfast is great and they offer - surprise - a 2 course dinner every day - included in the price of your room!

The Wifi works and is free of charge.

Recommendable!

Room Tip: Oslo still has trams and they are pretty noisy. They wake you up in the morning if you stay on the f...

This hotel is very close to the National Theater in Oslo, it's central location means plenty of things to see and places to eat in close proximity. There are plenty of shops locally as well.

My room was on the fourth floor at the front of the hotel and you may want to consider the noise from the trams if you are a light sleeper and ask for a room away from the road (it didn't bother me)

As well as a nice choice of breakfast I was also offered a buffet dinner included in the price, this was a very welcome addition as I was only in town for 1 night.

The room itself was a good size with a nice bathroom included heated floor.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2014

I stayed for 3 nights, and although some things were great, others were bad, and left me with mixed feelings.
My room (#615) was as small as it gets. The smallest room I ever had anywhere, to an extent that the bed only had 30-50cm of space around it, without any space to open my suitcase other than on the bed itself. Same goes for the bathroom - the shower was effective, but had no door and was so close to the sink and toilet that everything was soaking wet once I had a shower, despite my attempts to turn the water current away. The bed was not very comfortable, and mattress refused to stay in one place, requiring some repositioning before going to sleep.
On top of that, the elevator, which was very slow to begin with, kept breaking down, and did so 4 times during my stay, forcing me to go up or down the stairs from the 6th floor, luckily without the need to carry my luggage on those occasions.
On the good side, the hotel is very modern and nicely decorated. The service at the front desk was impeccable, the breakfast was excellent with lots of choices, and they even offer complementary coffee in the afternoon and dinner in the evening. The location is great - walking distance feom the train station, just a couple of minutes walk from some of the main attractions of Oslo, and in front of a nice park. One downside of the proximity to the main attractions was the chimes every 15 minutes from dawn and until late in the evening.
All in all, I did enjoy some of the things, and disliked others. Since I don't think those things can be easily fixed, I will probably look for another hotel on my next visit to Oslo.
