“Little gem.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

Great meal in pleasant surroundings with fantastic service. Off the beaten track so you could easily miss it, but well worth looking for.

“Hidden gem in nice neighbourhood”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

Rustic and nice place with focus on local and ecological food. Nice place for a girlie lunch, Sunday brunch (buffet) or dinner with friends. Informal place with an open kitchen. Warm ambiance and focus on good food. Local produce in often French oriented dishes. Nice service and OK prices.

“Excellent food in a rustic environment”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

Kolonihagen is one of those places I almost don't want to recommend...it's one of the few hidden pearls in Oslo that I'd like to have by myself :)

The food quality is Michelin-standard, the service as well. I guess it's due to the fact that it's the little brother of Maaemo - it's owned by the same people.

The concept of ecological food in a rustic, cozy environment on the west side of Oslo is nothing but a success. The atmosphere is relaxed yet romantic in a good old fashioned way.

Considering their price level this is really great value for money, and I'll keep on coming back.

“Do not miss this one”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2013

The perfect choice if you'd like to eat great new Scandinavian cooking but you won't go all in at Ylajali or Maaemo. Expect to be served deliciously tasting piece of art.

The restaurant is in a classic Frogner back yard. It works just as well in the summer as an urban garden experience as a refuge from cold winter weather.

We had three courses (500 NOK). I think that gave us much better value than a one course (300 NOK) would have.

The staff really know what they are talking about
