“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2011

This hotel has a great location in the very center of Oslo - all main sights & nightlife are within a short walking distance. A very nice hotel, clean, nice rooms, contemporary design etc. If you are looking for something special, this is not the hotel for you. But if you are happy with a standard + hotel, this is a good place. I would stay here again.

I was here for 3 nights during the 2011 VM Ski Jumping Championship. Service was friendly and helpful. My room was of a good size but my only view was the wall of the neighbouring building. There were ventilation vents somewhere below which did emit a bad smell on one occasion during my stay. I liked the simple decor of the room - and it was wholly adequate for one person even though there wasn't a wardrobe (instead it was open plan with hangers). There were no amenities (except liquid soap from wall dispensers which double for shampoo etc as well) and they were skimpy on the towels, both in size and number (i.e. skimpy bath towel and no face towel). Each room had one teabag and one stick of sugar by way of refreshment - it comes with an electric teapot and there's also an ironing board with iron. There's no mini-bar. I wasn't bothered by any of this as the super comfy bed and location more than made up for it. The let down for me was the cleanliness. There was a bottle cap from the previous guest; detritus on the granite counter top in the bathroom; cracked tea mugs; stained towels which exhibited considerable wear and tear and sometimes if I am lucky I got an extra small towel to use as a bath mat.

I've seen much better breakfast buffets but it was adequate if you don't mind your eggs hard boiled and scrambled eggs rubbery. Don't look for Norwegian smoked salmon here. Basically, you get ham cheeses, eggs, breads, cereals and some fruit.

In spite of these shortcomings I would stay here again but I think that housekeeping needs to shape up.

Superb location - an easy walk from the Central Station and clost to all bus/tram stops. Many of the city sights are also within very easy walking distance. Although it is right in the city centre it is on a fairly quiet street, so there was no problem with traffic / street noise.
The rooms are modern, spacious and spotlessly clean. The hotel staff were super helpful with excellent local knowledge.
All in all, 10/10.

Stayed here 2 nights at a very good price due to a special offer. The hotel is easy to find and only 10 minutes walk from the airport express train. The receptionist was very nice, smiling and friendly. I was surprised by the size of the room, looked more like a double than the single I had booked. The bathroom is not big, but OK, with black and white tiles, shower, heating in the floor, all in all well designed. Good lighting in both bathroom and the room in general. The room had an electric kettle, coffe and teabags, ironing board and iron. Also flat screen TV and free wireless internet. There were no closet to hang things, only hangers by the door, no chest or drawers of any kind. That did not bother me, not much to unpack for two days anyway.
We had one dinner in the hotel restaurant RBG, which is a nice place. We liked it. It is also the breakfast room. Breakfast is good.
The hotel had a warm and friendly atmosphere, very good value for money.

We have booked this hotel as it was nearly the cheapest option at that time to sleep in Oslo.
This turned out to be a good choice.
Location: The hote is easily reachable from the main train statio 5-7 min walk and also is right next to the historic centre.
Rooms: Large enough, clean, modern furniture. Clean and nice bathroom with heated floor.
Breakfast: Good choice of sausages, bread, ham, cheese, milk, juices ...
Staff: Helpful, gave us free map and advised us of restaurants ... Check in/out smooth and quick.

Overall I have to say that for two nights we have paid 220 Euros and that was very cheap for Oslo and this level of quality hotel. I would surely recommend this hotel and return here if needed.

The location was perfect as we were running in the Oslo Marathon as well as attending a ballet at the national opera house. It was really easy to walk from central station to the hotel. The location was the best. The staff at the front desk allowed us a late check in despite it being 4pm when the marathon was over. It was no rush to check out which we really appreciated. We borrowed an umbrella as it was pouring rain which was nice too. The rooms were modern but small.
When in Oslo, we will book this hotel.

Walkable from the main train station, but take a map (!), the hotel is brilliantly located off the main street, 2 minutes from Aker Bryggen. Friendly staff, nice buffet breakfast (but get up early to avoid the rush!), bedroom was quite nice, there wasn't a 'view' from the window or anything, and the modern bathroom has an issue with the wet floor from there being no shower door - but I think this is minor given the cost (relatively cheaper than the other options), and location.
I liked my stay in Oslo, it's a nice city - not as good as Stockholm or Bergen, but as good as Copenhagen. Do go to Pier 3 and get the ferry to Bygdoy for the Norsk Folkmuseum, on paper it sounds dull, but it's open air with animals, old barns, a Stave church (good photo opp.) and a town from the 1920s-1970s.
A nasty surprise was the cost of the train from the main station to Gardermoen Airport, it's about 350NOK per person, perhaps it's better to book online early?!?!
Loved Norway and it's handsome people. Good Times!
