The new wing of the hotel is open and it is fantastic. Very nice rooms , well decorated , very nice colors and... a nespresso machine in the room . This hotel is now definitely the Nr 1 in Tromso

Booked a business class room with view. The hotel has a building site next to it where they are building a replacement
hotel. My room was small with a view of the building work so I
immediately complained and received a slightly larger (corner) room with a better view, although still small. Blurb on website is definitely exaggerated. TV in room had news channel, kids channel and also had porn channels to my surprise. Don't let the kids turn on the TV and flick through the channels! Old fashioned interior but good buffet breakfast and friendly, helpful staff. Would still stay there again. Doubt if the other hotels there are particularly different.

Have been staying at the hotel a number of times, last time now in september during a conference.
+: Friendly staff, great location (in the centre,seaview on one side, great breakfast buffet, room service,exotic snack in the room - dried reindeer-meet ! )
-: Old and outworn, very 70's....,desperately in need for renovation, which is gonna happen soon according to the hotel staff.

Total: Radisson hotels are generally a safe choice anywere, but not this one. I would recommend staying at Rica Ishavshotellet, which is located next door. Service is equal, but better room-standard.

Hotel was in a great location and our room on the 6th floor had some great views over the water. We could see the Arctic cathedral, the bridge and Cable Car from our room.

Rooms on the small side with only a wardrobe to hang clothes but no drawers. Hotel could do with some refurbishment as is looking old, however this is taking place and completion is due in 2007 I believe. Will be an excellent hotel once complete.

Breakfast was excellent, everything you would want for breakfast.

Tromso is a lovely place, with excellent views. We went to see the northern lights, which were amazing. I recommend going on an organised trip (about £40UK). They take you out of the town lights so you can get a better view.

Bear in mind Norway is not cheap, but a wonderful place. I would go back!
