“Good hotel in the right location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2013

Hotel was pretty good with a very convenient location. You could catch a direct bus from the airport (please do as the waiting time for cabs are ridiculous which we did for 45 mins when we first arrived). It was also a minute's walk to the arctic guide service office where we booked our tour for The Northern Light chase.

It is walking distance to most parts of attractions since it is a small town except for the Arctic Cathedral.

Appreciate the complimentary breakfast buffet which was average.

Room was VERY SPACIOUS which we appreciated as we had 4 luggages in total. Bathroom was pretty spacious too and there was complimentary tea/coffee in the room with a kettle.

The Staff in the reception is not friendly, they don't explain about the facilities in the hotel and don't give even a small tip about tourism in Tromso.
My room was not clean up and when I called the reception to know why the service was not done, the staff told me she didn't know why it was not done - that was her answer!
The bathroom was flooded after wich shower.
Choose another hotel, there are so many local hotel in the same area much better than Radisson.
I have stayed in others Radisson around the world and this one in Tromso is the worst ever!!!

Room Tip: Choose another hotel! There are so many locals hotel in the same area much better

This is a good hotel in a good location. No real charm here. A chain hotel with consistent clean rooms and good quality. Easy walking to anywhere in downtown including great restaurants. A great breakfast buffet. Not many staff around and when you find them they are less than enthusiastic. If you are just passing through Tromso this place is fine. If you are staying in Tromso I would suggest staying at more unique locally owned accommodations with more charm and warmth in both the building and the staff.

Room Tip: Rooms on the water side have a better view.

An ok hotel conveniently placed on the quay. Lovely breakfast but a leaking bath and a small double bed. A mixed bag really. However the location is the big plus with easy access to the town and the few sights available.

Room Tip: Ask for twin beds if travelling as a couple--you can always push them together

Pleasantly surprised with this hotel, staff are very helpful, polite and friendly. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable and the buffet breakfast is very good with lots of choice. There is free tea and coffee in the lobby (where breakfast is served) is warm and welcoming with a good menu.Lunch time pizza buffet menu is very popular.
The hotel is near the Flybuss stop, so easy to get to from the airport and a few minutes walk to museums, tourist info office, shops and the harbour.

Like Melon1973 I had absolutely no gripes about this hotel. Its in a great location right by the harbor where the majority of the expedition companies pick up their customers from, the flybussen (airport transfer service) stops right outside and the tourist information office was less than 5 minute walkaway at the back.

My room had a view of the harbor, was clean, spacious and comfortable and the bathroom the same (although I wish Radisson would move away from their chosen prison chic scheme - all white tiles with heavy grey grouting), breakfast was plentiful and popular (was busy every day I stayed there), as a solo female traveler I felt completely safe and any staff members I encountered were friendly and professional.

If I had any gripes it was that there could be better soundproofing when the in-house band are playing (which was on one night only) - but its the Christmas party season and I wouldn't want to begrudge anyone their fun!! (And the band were done by 1.00 am so no real harm done!).

Room Tip: If you can pay extra for the superior rooms as these are the ones with the view of the harbor - its...

this is a great hotel.Me and my wife stayed here for one night before a cruise round northern Norway and a night after the cruise. To be honest we couldn't fault it in any way.It was a very quick check in and the hotel staff are very friendly.the bed is extremely comfortable and the breakfast has a very good selection.we were both impressed. If you are going on a cruise from tromso its perfect as the harbour is literally just round the corner.Tromso is small but the hotel location is very good for getting around the city.the tourist information is just around the corner as well.It started our holiday off very well
