“Gret place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2012

Great location in the heart of Tromso.
Included breakfast and supper were surprisingly good, and the included make your own waffles also appreciated.

Don't expect to get a room with a view, unless you want to pay a surcharge, but you can see the water from the dining room, and walk straight form the dining room on to the promenade, so not a big deal.

Definitely recommended.

Great location, perfect accommodations 300km above the Arctic Circle, exceptional service. We had such a great time in the summer - but only 36 hours in Tromso - that we are planning to go back in the winter, with more time in Tromso, and at this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view

We spent four nights in this lovely hotel. We were in room 515 which is light and airy with two windows overlooking the waterfront. The staff were friendly, helpful and courteous. The free meals were of good quality with plenty of choice. We particularly liked the DIY meusli and fresh oranges to juice for breakfast. We didn't need to eat again until the evening when we could have had a five course dinner, starting with soup and ending with cheese and crackers, if we'd wanted.

We had been warned that "Tromso parties" so we weren't surprised by the noise levels, both in and around the hotel, but that has affected the overall rating given.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the waterfront have a beautiful view. You can sit and watch the world float by!

Returning from an 18 day cruise it is hard to join the world again. However this hotel was perfect. They offered us an upgrade and we got a great view of our ship. It was actually bettter than the view we had on the ship. The customer service I would rate a 10. Lots of people trying to check in with lots of luggage. The gal at the front dest was so sweet and kind to everyone. You did not mind waitiing for a couple of minutes because when it was your turn you were treated as if you were the only one there. The bed was so comfortable and the room spotless. Dinner was great. If it did not take 27 hours to get home I would come back to this hotel in a moment. Would be the best place to be in the winter looking for northern lights. Wish we could return.

Room Tip: They told us we would have a double bed instead of two singles. Their double bed is bigger than the...

Hotel had excellent position on harbour front. We had a sea view room (which was worth paying extra for). The breakfast and evening mail were both good and certainly better than we expected them to be. The staff were really friendly but not in your face. We would look to come back to try and see the Northern Lights later in the year and use here as a base.

this was the last night of a 12 day 3800 km motorcycle tour of Norway. A fitting way to end the trip as the hotel is comfortable, beautifully located, rooms and service are excellent. We bid goodbye to each other - with strong emotions for people who had met 12 days before - parted our different ways.

Overall - good value hotel (for norway) in central location, with great views. superior 3*.
Positives - really good location on harbour side, nice views from room (we had sea facing room), nice furnishings, buffet dinner included as part of room price (ok but nothing to write home about - so you might want to splash out a fortune at the fish restaurant next door), very friendly staff.
Negatives - no free wifi (but avialable if you want to pay for it), Parking - very limited parking by the hotel but the hotel will organise you paid parking in the town parking in tunnels at the back of the town, with a good map provided on how to get there (10 mins walk) and the ticket will allow you to go in and out as often as you like.

Room Tip: Definitely worth going for a sea view room.
