“Wow”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2014

Difficult to find, worth it, but just walk up the hill to towards the ski jump. Amazing to walk around the park and have photo by the cauldron, see the Norwegian team ski jumping (has to be seen just how steep), but highlight was the tabogganing, not to be missed and certainly not just for kids!

“AN OLYMPIC SIGHT!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013

Normally, the Ski Jump Tower is most interesting during the summer and winter season. But this year, it has been amazing being at the Tower and at the bottom of the Tower in october month as well. Often you can see the ski jumpers jumping without snow. And it is a wonderful place to walk or ride by cycle. And only 300 yards away, there is a very exciting waterfall which runs through the city of Lillehammer. If you are a little bit sporty, walk from the city center of Lillehammer or take a bus to near the Ski Jump Tower. Walk around the place, then go down besides the water falls to the city center. A wonderful walk!

“Ski jumping in August!?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

We got here earl and took one of the first chairlift rides to the top. Funny - I have acrophobia, but I like chair lifts. Unexpectedly, there were jumpers on the 90m hill! There is water in the jump channels, and the landing area is comprised of long synthetic strands that are periodically wet-down. The end area is thick grass, 2-3" long. One jumper confirmed that, with the give of the landing area, it may even be less jarring than snow.
My wife walked partway down the stairs and then back up to take the chairlift down. Being stupid, with a bad knee, I walked all the way down, taking pictures along the way (954 stairs). At the bottom, I met a 58 year old jumper who took up the sport at a point in life when most jumpers have retired. He was glad to chat about his hobby - as long as I didn't delay his next jump.
We returned to the jumps for sunset, walking up to the 120m take-off before coming back down.
Amazing! In the US, a place like this would be locked up and guarded, but Lysgardsbakkene is open for all to enjoy. Fee is only for the chairlift.

“Ski jump”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

Well I won't be taking ski jumping up as a hobby, I must say. Chairlift not functioning the day we were there. (Somewhat thankful for that!) some energetic souls in the group climbed the stairs to the top. 800 apparently. I chose to potter around below. Very interesting for anyone really interested in sport which I'm not.
