“Big schnitzels but tasteless. Gruff scary owner.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2012

Went here on advice of Lonely Planet. Obscenely oversized deep fried schnitzels overflowing the plate. Super grumpy scary owner. Smoke filled room didn't help the atmosphere. We wouldn't recommend this place or go back ourselves.

“Terrible schnitzel. Terrible service.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2011

Went here based on lonely planet recommendation. Absolutely rubbish. They have many type of schnitzel types, Viennese, Paris, cordon bleu etc... Was told by the extremely gruff man (who I think may have been drunk too) that they have no pork.. Only turkey. No prob, I just got the turkey. What I ended up with was a sodden, oil drenched piece of meat with no crunch and no flavour. Almost inedible. Potato salad was sad and soo sweet it tastes like bad supermarket food. My partners goulash was passable.

Overall give this place a wide berth. Should have done what another smart couple did and walk out before ordering.

“Excellente choice for schnitzel and atmosphere.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2011

the biggest Wiener Schnitzel I have ever seen, for a nice price, about 10€! A potato salad on the side superb. Superb choice to go there.

“More than a Typical Beisl in Vienna; good food and better price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2011

If you are tired of nice coffee houses, expensive restaurants and look for something less touristic, maybe this "beisl" is a good option. Take a soup in the cold Austrian winter, and then a nice Schnitzel with Austrian white wine. Not a luxury place, but with good results if your expectations accept a genuine experience. We will return for sure.
