Last december (2104) WE were two couples age 65
Location is excellent. The 40A buss only 60 meters the D tram is 200 meters and the Both go to the city center. The U4 is 700 meters away. The area is quite and pleasant with enough supermarkets and restaurants and coffe shop close by.
The staff know English very good, most of them know the area very well Trying hard to help find targets
The hotel was very well kept up and clean.
The Rooms are very spacious although the bed was not a double but never the less comfortable. The shower was excellent with hot water arriving within 2 seconds (in December) to the very large shower head. The radiator in the shower heated the whole room and there was no need to use the air conditioner.
The safe was large and easily accessible.
The few minor problems with the room were taken care of with 2 minutes such as the phone not working and a missing towel.
The breakfast was catastrophic to those who like to eat and want to watch weight. There were ample amounts of bacon and two types of sausages as well as four kinds of cold cuts. The cheese plate included four types of sliced cheese as well as six blocks including cannabere brie and blue cheese. The eggs came in boiled and scrambled. Bread and rolls 8 kinds. Ample vegetables and exotic fruits as well as seasonal fruits. The four coffee machines were fine.
The room had 7 power outlets available for the benefit of visitors

The only comment is about the tap in the sink
It is very low which caused a problem for those needing to shave.

31 Dec 2011: The staff were friendly and helpful but not very knowledgeable about the local area which was disappointing. The breakfast was very good, parking was easy (may be seasonal),and the room was spacious. Close to public transport links.
The wifi was extremely slow to the point of frustration. Rooms need refurbishment, looking very tired. This is not a 4 star rating a 3 star rating would be more applicable. Seemed to be bit of price gouging given it was news years eve which is disappointing.

Stayed for two nights and were impressed by this nice hotel. It is in a good area with very quiet surroundings which makes for a good nights rest. The bedroom on the 6th floor was spacious and well furnished and clean.the only problem was the Air Con.which was less than effective although this did not bother us to much. The self service breakfast was good and with plenty of choice.
The locality has good restaurants and coffee shops within easy walking and the city centre is easily walkable on level ground in about 20/25 minutes with a shops/bars en route.
Overall a good hotel for those not to hung up on luxury but wanting a quiet relaxing stay away from the city hubbub.

Located in a residential park district, this hotel is built besides a petit
Palais (now a conference facility) and has a nice garden.
Yet walking distance to tram is 5 minutes, and it takes 7 stops of pleasant
ride and view to be at downtown Vienna (Opera House).

Large and comfortable rooms and baths with all amenities.
We specially enjoyed its first-class buffet breakfast and delicious viennoiserie.

Room Tip: All rooms are peaceful, either overlooking the garden or the dead-end front street.

In a quiet cul de sac out of city centre of the city yet close to trams/buses/underground to reach most places. Our room (standard) was a reasonable size and bright. Large bathroom with bathtub as well as shower and lots of toiletries. Breakfast spread was unbelievably huge and varied and offered everything for all tastes. - Staff were friendly, helpful and eager. The only "problem" for me was that on the first floor where we were the windows didn't open so I felt the lack of fresh air. Although there are a couple of restaurants close by, the choice of "nightlife" is rather limited but as we were in the centre until late most nights, this did not pose any major problem for us. Would recommend to everybody who wants a quiet refuge in the big city.

Room Tip: Maybe a room at the back would offer a view on to the spectacular garden

We stayed at Strudlhof between the 15th and 18th of August. Vienna was our first stop on our first-ever trip to Europe. Lovely location on a quiet street, close to tram and underground stations. We had a room on the upper floor - it was cramped because of the sloping roof and pillars on either side of the small room. Great breakfast (even for vegetarians like us) in a spacious restaurant which unfortunately only served breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff at the reception. Although they boast of a terrace with a view, it is no more than a narrow strip of space with one or two chairs. I would recommend Strudlhof if you are not looking for luxury, but only for a clean, quiet and efficient hotel while you spend the best part of the day sightseeing.

Room Tip: Do not take an upper floor room with sloping roof if you like unobstructed space
