“A must do in Vienna”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

If you are after schnitzel, you can't go wrong with Figlmuller. Schnitzel was very good and the potato salad was excellent. While I agree with the other reviewers that the schnitzels are huge, because they are very thin (this is not a bad thing!) they are not very big portions and in my opinion, coupled with a small portion of potato salad they make a decent meal for one.Because it is the best known schnitzel place, it could get crowded with tourists so a reservation would be advisable. A bonus is that the place is open on Sundays from lunchtime while most other (decent) restaurants are closed. As we landed Vienna on Sunday afternoon and were pretty hungry, the Figlmuller was a nice life saver.
The only negative point was; while the service was not bad, the waiters were rushing to get the order while we were deciphering the menu. Some more explanation on the menu before taking the orders would be good.

“A legendary Wiener Schnitzel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

I think it's one of the pioneer for Schnitzel restaurants in Wien since it's been very old ( since 1905! )...Despite the age,the restaurants are very nice, the Wiener Schnitzel is HUGE and the potato salad served with it is also very delicious...Usually I don't eat pork since I don't really like the taste of the meat, but the Wiener Schnitzel here is made from pork ( they have also another option Schnitzel made from veal ) and I like it so much, since it does.t taste so much like pork...The price is affordable too,I think it's about 15 euros for the Schnitzel made from pork, from the one made from veal, I think it's about 20 euros...
P.S : Make the reservation long time before coming here, since it's always crowded...The alternative, you can go to the 2nd Figmüeller restaurant ( a newer one ) located not far from the 1st one, since they have bigger space and more tables...

Not only the famous schnitzel but the other are also nice. Due to popularity need to wait awhile if no booking is made.

“Best Schnitzel in town.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

Everytime i'm in Vienna I make my reservation and enjoy the great meal with friends. TIPS: Make a reservation, have a bottle of sparkling water and and a bottle of gruner veltliner (gespritzer, mixed) to drink.

“In Every Guide Book”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

This old-time Vienna restaurant is known for its schnitzel and it gets strong reviews in almost every guide book. So, we had to try it and it was good. For a first time visitor to Vienna this is probably a must-do, but I don't know that I'd go again. Be sure to have reservations, even in low season. We had the famous schnitzel and an accompanying salad. The schnitzel was thin, tender, over-flowed the plate and was tasty. But, really, how can you make 'naked' schnitzel exciting? Next visit to Vienna I'll probably venture further away from the old town in search of something a little more elaborate.
