What's not to love about this historical, beautiful and all-around fantastic cafe? I have been a couple times and have loved each visit.
The first time I sat in the front part of the cafe, that has glass windows casing the place. It's a more casual atmosphere and is perfect for spending time with friends and family, and makes an especially nice atmosphere during the day when the light comes through nicely.
The inside is very elegant and spacious (so you're not being squeezed in), makes you feel like you're walking into old Vienna with the dark wood furniture, large chandeliers and heavy curtains.
I love that you can get different types of dining experience here to fit your mood and/or group.
As for the food and drinks, it's top notch. Their teas are wonderful and they give you a a rock candy stick to sweeten your tea, which adds such a lovely (and fun) touch. Their menu gives many different offerings for teas and coffees, so I'm sure everyone can find something for them. Their Wiener melange is outstanding as well as their chococinno.
We have not had a meal here, but have tried their Kaiserschmarrn on both occasions and it is truly one of the best in Vienna. To this date it is tied for the number one spot with Demel in our opinions. They are both different, and we love their differences, so it's hard to say which is best between the two for us. At Landtmann the Kaisershmarrn is so fluffy and soft, a little more buttery and a perfect match with their confiture and apple sauce that is served with it. I think we are going to order this everytime we are there!
The staff is friendly, easy and very knowledgeable should you have any questions.
I highly recommend this cafe for a great time. Though I have not dined for a full meal here, I would have no reservations doing so from what I have exerpienced, seen and read. Hope you get to go!
