Albertina gallery is located in a nice old building in the heart of Vienna, close to the Hofburg Palace. This art museum is smaller than Prado or the Hermitage, yet, its collection of drawings and graphic reproductions is considered to be the largest in the world. But we went to see works of French Impressionism, first of all. Albertina houses a collection of outstanding works by Claude Monet, Renoir, Matisse, real masterpieces. It can boast of owning part of Monet’s famous series of water lilies as well as Degas’ “Dancers”. These paintings are enough a reason to visit Albertina, but there’s more. We also loved Helmut Newton’s photographs, he was a great master. The gallery is perfectly maintained, and the souvenir shop offers nice gifts to remind of your visit.
