Stayed 3 nights and enjoyed ourselves. Room was cosy and toilet was clean. There was a good spread of the included breakfast as well.

Hotel was just less than 10
mins short walk to the metro (Museum Quartier, U2 and Neubaugasse, U3).

Would stay here again.

After a lot of research on line and after reading a lot of trip advisor reviews we selected the Hotel Das Tyrol primarily based on the warm reviews it received and its central location which indicated the hotel as ideal for exploring the beautiful city of vienna. Needless to say we were not disappointed. The location is a 5 minute walk to the historic centre and also ideally located on the main shopping thoroughfare in vienna with a lovely corner position on the street. The staff were all very friendly and spoke perfect english and always happy to provide guidance or assistance. I have scored this a four purely on the basis that there is no day time or evening food service or bar, there is a lovely continental buffet breakfast that also serves a myriad of hot egg options which all can be recommended! The hotel itself is on the smallish side set in an old building but nicely appointed, the rooms are nicely decorated and roomy by central european standards, have nice bathrooms and a full serviced mini bar. There is a turndown in the evenings also with a nice chocolate gift on the pillow also. There is only one lift which will struggle to fit more than two people with their bags at the same time but given its vintage fell helps to add to the character of the hotel. We had a wonderful stay here and i would not hesitate to recommend this hotel as a great base to head out and wander the beautiful streets of vienna.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room as they have lovely little balconies that allow you look down on the shopping...

Very pleasant stay at this small, non-conspicuous hotel in downtown Wien. Staff was superb and the private wellness area a pleasant surprise. Location is perfect on a pedestrian shopping area next to one of the best Christmas markets. Very close to the underground (although we didn't use it) walking to the Opera and the cathedral, while the museum quarter is across the street. All personnel were really kind and available for suggestions and infos. Decorations were very nice and even the chinas were on theme of Christmas.
The restaurants in the little suggestion booklet were indeed just as advertised. Eat wienerschnitzel at Schnitzelwirt sharing the table with locals or other tourists. Cakes are good everywhere and if there is too much people in line at Sacher just choose another one.
Overall highly recommended.

Room Tip: Our room was an upgraded one facing the back street: absolutely quiet for a perfect night of sleep

The reviews of this hotel are accurate. We found it after a great deal of research during a hot August afternoon. First time visitors to Vienna, we wanted a little luxury, a great deal of comfort, a great breakfast and to be well located and within easy access of all the Christmas markets and sights and transport links. The Hotel Das Tyrol fitted the bill perfectly. We were upgraded to a suite which was beautiful, comfortable, warm with a good working TV, Nespresso coffee machine, fresh fruit, wine and water. The staff were beyond helpful, especially Bettina on the front desk who is a credit to the hospitality industry. I have stayed at some of the world's most luxurious five star hotels, all of whom would be glad to have staff of the calibre of Bettina. The breakfast is first class, bordering on world class in terms of quality and of service.

With a brief walk to Mariahilfestrasse underground, you are literally within minutes of all that Vienna has to offer. If you're looking for authentic Austrian food, may I suggest Salm Brau. Just ask the front desk to reserve a table. Great pork and terrific beer.

I would wholeheartedly recommend the brilliant Hotel Das Tyrol and all of its amazing staff if you are searching for a fantastic experience in a beautiful city. Enjoy!

Room Tip: The suites are great and worth the extra money. Insist on non smoking. We had room 10

We picked the hotel for its location (walking distance from all the major sights and the Christmas markets) but we loved it for much more!

We arrived before check in time but our room was ready. The reception was very friendly and efficient. Our superior double room (No 25) was spotless, very comfortable (excellent beds) with a small sitting area and a separate desk area. Being in the corner, it allowed a lot of natural light in the room, that one could control with 2 different sets of shades. Spotless bathroom, with all the amenities. Real artwork made it feel more like home and it was a non-smoking room, as requested. Bathrobes and slippers were a plus, as was the Nespresso machine in the room.

Breakfast covered all needs: cereal, cold cuts, eggs cooked to order, pastry goods, juices, all kinds of coffee, tea and Prosecco! It was served from 7 to 10 am and there was always plenty of food out.

The elevator was renovated and sparkling. Good for 3 people or 2 with luggage.

We didn't find the time to use the private spa, but it looked inviting.

There were always chocolates, cakes or other deserts at the small lobby by the reception. And chocolates every day on the pillows!

And of course the location was excellent. We walked everywhere around and on a rainy day we took the metro, which is only 2 blocks away. And although we were just off Mariahilfer Strasse, we never heard any noise.

This is a small luxurious hotel with character. We plan to stay here again during our next trip to Vienna. Highly recommended!

A tip: If you want to spend a day visiting the sights that are a bit further away and you plan to be done by 8pm., buy the shopping pass, It's cheaper than the daily pass.

Room Tip: There are non-smoking rooms available (I think it's a whole floor).

A lovely hotel only a short stroll from the major sights of Vienna, with the added bonus of being on Mariahilfer Strasse, which is one of the main shopping thoroughfares in Vienna.

The hotel itself is certainly one of the more quirky we have stayed in, with a wide range of paintings, ceramics and other artworks scattered throughout the hotel, and a lovely spa room that could be reserved by guests to chill out after a hard days sightseeing.

We will certainly use this hotel again when visiting Vienna.

Had a lovely weekend staying at Das Tyrol, as a base for the Christmas markets. What a splendid hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, going out of their way to point out places of interest. Breakfast was very hearty with a very good variety. The hotel was modern and comfortable - with a very quaint lift! - and you can easily get around the major sites on foot. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to Vienna.
