1) Hotel is situated in a rather seedy area of Vienna!
2) Hygiene of Bed Linen very suspect. Took us 6 attempts and until 11pm to get this changed!
3) Some of our belongings were stolen from our locked room!
4) Hotel staff were useless and found this amusing rather than concerning! (They were also far more interested in playing solitaire and prank calling their friends than dealing with any customers!)
5) Hotel Management were not prepared to do anything about this until we got the Police involved! Even then they only compensated us for half of what had gone missing!

We had read similar complaints on trip advisor regarding this hotel and having already reserved a room were still prepared to take the risk! Do not make this mistake. It really isn't worth it. We are just trying to not let this experience cloud our view of Vienna.

Read the good reviews of this hotel and heard from friends who's been there. However, our stay was alittle disappointing. I think it's mainly because of the particular room we were given. It faces the elevator directly and seems to be the only room that adjoins 2 buildings hence the odd layout/geometry. So ask for a good room. The hotel was still under renovation when we were there. Breakfast was fine. Service was okie too. Overall good value for money.

The Gelbergasse hotel in Vienna is a great place to stay, the staff are friendly, the rooms are clean and their breakfast is yummo and good value!
If you have had a long day and wish to stay near the area there are very good restaurants near by which are reasonably priced...a must is the Kent restaurant where you get a big meal for 6 or 7 euro. The staff are more than willing to point you in the right direction of some good food if you ask them where to go.

This is an excellent hotel in the 3*** category. We found it very clean, nice bathrooms, TV and FREE internet! A good location right near tram and U-Bahn (which connects with international trains) and a great (winter) price booked on the internet. It has the most friendly and helpful staff that we found in 4 weeks going around most of western Europe. It is not in the actual centre of Vienna but only 6 minutes by tram and about 50% cheaper. Nice area with lots of restaurants and shops. Highly recommended in this catergory.
