Description: The focus is entirely on Austrian products, which chef Thomas Wohlfarter combines in his dishes: Viennese classics and those that simply "reveal" themselves, because they awaken in Thomas Wohlfarter the desire to make them into something very special. And when also the wine is really good, sommelier Hermann Botolen´s heart is warmed. Then his eyes light up and his enthusiasm carries over to the guests. Then one can only advise: "Order this wine!" The guest will be happy.

“Excellent food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

This is a small restaurant just behind St Stephen's Cathedral. The host's quirky and decisive character should be viewed positively. The wine paring with our meal, all superb Austrian wines, was excellent. Not inexpensive but worth every penny. We went a couple of time. I would definitely return when back in Vienna.

“Great food, rude service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

Although the food was beautifully prepared and presented, the service was rude and spotty. We would not recomment this restaurant to anyone who expects both top-notch food and service for the prices charged.

“Excellent experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

We got a 3 course menu with the wine menu. It was an excellent experience - a bit expensive but really worth the price - highly recommendable.

“intimate restaurant serving excellent food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

It's smallish, intimate restaurant serving excellent food. Main courses are around 20-30 euro but well worth it. Decisive host is taking care of you, and can recommend good local wines from excessive selection of them. Highly recommended!

“Excellent gourmet evening”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

If you are looking for a real treat, go to Dom Beisl in the center of Austria's capital, Vienna. We found the address in the Michelin guide. A rather simple dish as a "Wiener Schnitzel" becomes a real delight. The menu is rather difficult to read since everything is written in german only, but whatever you pick is just great. The service is correct but not extremely friendly. In many other restaurants we visited in this wonderful town, the staff was much more friendly.
