“Classic music concert information in Vienna”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2012

Just some more information on the excellent classical music concerts at the St Anna Church. The price for seniors and students is 19 euro but for all others it is 29 euros. This is half the price of some of the other concerts in town. The pew seating is quite uncomfortable so bring a pad for your back. Tickets can be purchased at Classicexclusive.com or at the door (they don't sell out.)

“A beautiful church, ideal for a concert”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2012

From the outside you would never guess what splendor lies behind the unobtrusive door of St Anna's church in the street named after it in central Vienna. This small church is simply stunning and the best way to enjoy it is to attend one of the regular concerts held there. We went to a chamber orchestra concert that covered Mozart, Vivaldi and Chopin. The musicians were excellent as were the acoustics of the church. The cost was a reasonable nineteen euros for a concert of just over an hour. You can buy tickets at the door or from some hotels. There are lots of concerts on offer in Vienna but this has intimacy and beauty. There are good restaurants in this pedestrian walkway for a meal after the concert.

“Enjoyable Church”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2012

St. Anne's church was built in 1518 using the Gothic style. The Poor Clare Sisters took care of the church. Later the Jesuits took over and in 1634 the Jesuits transformed it into a Baroque church. After a fire in 1747, Christoph Tausch transformed it into late Baroque. The ceiling frescos were created by Daniel Gran. The first one is the Glory of St. Anne. The next fresco is the Glory of the Virgin Mary. The last is the Glory of the New Born Christ. In 1906 the Oblates of St. Francis took over the church.

“Small and intimate baroque church”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2012

This is a small church along Annagasse, just off Kartnerstrasse. It has a rich baroque interior and frescoes in the ceiling; not particularly unique, but attractive all the same. Annakirche makes a pleasant stop for 3-5 minutes if in the area. Would not recommend targeting this church in particular, as Peterskirche is a few blocks away and a lot more grand but St Anna's makes a good stop if you've time to spare.

They hold concerts in the weekends and although did not actually see one here, it seems a good venue judging by the small size, which would probably offer good acoustics even for a string ensemble.
