“Vienna's Gothic Treasure”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

It's not a light and airy masterpiece like Chartres (near Paris), but still amazes. I caught the end of a late afternoon mass; hearing a cathedral organ is always a treat.

“The Center of Vienna”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

I found this to be the center of Vienna, so much to do and see including St. Stephans church of course, the heart of town. Loved it. Easing to get to from anywhere on their wonderful transportation system.

“Heart of the city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

The church is beautiful inside and out. It is the one landmark that you can use to help with directions. There are numerous shops and restaurants located here. The Ubahn is easily accessible from here.

“The Heart of the First District”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

As the cathedral of St, Stephan was consecrated in the 12th century, one can imagine that life in Vienna has been centered in this platz for century after century. Today it is the center for shopping, eating, or just people watching. You might find an artist sketching or break dancers dancing! The famous pedestrian street Kaertnerstrasse as well as the Graben both end at Stephansplatz and you will likely find yourself at Stephansplatz numerous times during your visit to Vienna. Here you can hire a fiaker, or horse-drawn carriage, to take you through some of the less traveled streets of the historic First District.
