“Good Choice in Vienna”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2012

Getting a good hotel in Vienna is a difficult task, especially, if not only the price and quality of the hotel, but also the location matters. This hotel is a good compromise, since it is located in a reasonably safe area close to the city center and is still not too expensive. The hotel is within walking distance of both tramway and subway stations, allowing you to reach the city center within five minutes. My room was very clean and functional, maybe only lacking a little bit of personality. I did not opt for the breakfast, since there are good bakeries around, and the only thing I was missing was a gym.

I stayed one night in this hotel. Rooms are fine, spacious, comfortable bed and pillows. I had a room overlooking courtyard, which would be normally quiet.Unfortunately there was large Xmas party on that night and run until 5 am, thus it was quite impossible to sleep. I came to breakfast at 7 am and the whole area was full of smoke, very dirty floor with many cigarettes in front of the reception and everywhere around. I presume the staff should clean the area before serving the breakfast. Breakfast selection was just average, not much of hot dishes (only scrambled eggs and pancakes), I would expect more in this type of hotel. Location OK, not prime in the city centre, but convenient for our purpose of travelling to Vienna.

Dear traveller,
Thank you very much for your honest feedback on your stay in December 2012. It's is true that we had a large x-mas party during your stay and we feel very sorry for all inconveniences this may have caused.
Unfortunately the late guests of the party celebrated till 6am in the morning and in this short time until breakfast started it was not able for us to clean and air the whole restaurant in the way it should be.
Please accept our deepest apologies for this. As a small excuse we would like to offer you a free upgrade to the next room category and a drink at our bar for you next stay. Please contact us under direktion.wien@amediahotels.com for further details and reservation.
We hope to be able to welcome you again at AMEDIA Hotel Wien on the occasion of your next visit in Vienna and remain in the meantime
Yours faithfully
Isabella Pömmer

We stayed at this hotel during a very nice weather period which compensated for the fact that the hotel was quite far from the city metro on foot. If you are coming with your own car, you probably wouldn't mind the distances, but note that around the hotel there is very little to do in the evening or on Sundays. But this is also the case with most of Vienna with their 8 o'clock shutting down policy. We loved everything about the hotel and our room and the value for money was perfect. The quality of sleep was great. We didn't book any breakfast since we'd estimated it was overpriced but luckily discovered later a couple of bakeries and supermarkets in the vicinity. The hotel was newly opened so the rooms, the furniture and the amenities were in an excellent condition.

We enjoyed the free hit movies, the room comfort and excellent Internet connection. But our target was the city so we spent little time in the room during the day. Our room on the first floor came with a spacious terrace. It had no view but it was perfect for relaxing during late evening hours. We had to watch for spiders though as they seemed keen to drop by whenever the terrace door were kept open for a long time. Such things normally never bother me, but those vivid coloured buggers residing around Amedia didn't look harmless at all.

The hotel staff was one of the kindest and most helpful I have ever encountered. They made our stay even more enjoyable. One of the things many guests, particularly business travelers may find attractive are free international calls for many countries. Unfortunately, Serbia wasn't included, but we complement the management for that and many other services offered to the guests.

I stayed there recently for five nights and was pretty much impressed. For a reasonable price you are really getting decent four-star quality. The lobby area was clean and nice, as was my room. The staff was friendly, the hotel itself located quite conveniently for me. I was only missing a decent gym.

Stayed at this hotel on a recent business trip to the city and was attracted by the great price when compared to other hotels in the neighbourhood. While outside of town there is a bus stop immediately outside the hotel from where a ride to the centre is very quick. The tram stop and s-bahn stations are also only about 5 minutes walk away.
The rooms are modern and functional rather than luxurious but everything was certainly spotless on my visit.

I recently stayed at the AMEDIA Hotel Wien for one night. My first impression of the hotel was: bright, clean, and new. I arrived early around 14:00 (check-in is at 15:00) but the front desk staff were very kind and had no problem checking me in early. My room was 331 and was looking over a court yard area of the neighborhood. It was very peaceful and I could hear no street noise even with the windows open. The room was a very nice and spacious. All the decor is new. The room was spotless and has very good natural light through the 3 windows. The beds were very comfortable. The HD flat screen TV was nice. They have great wifi in the rooms so you can use your laptops or iPads for business or entertainment.

The only issues I have with the hotel room is that the desk is kind of small for a business person to use. It looses a lot of space because of the tapering effect it has where the seat is located. I think functionality lost out to design on this particular item.

The location of the hotel is not very central or close to any specific tourist areas, however there are some large business in the area so it is probably more catered to the business traveler. Of course with just a short taxi ride into the city center you can then walk around or take public transportation to sight see the wonders of Vienna.

There are also very few restaurants on the same street as the hotel. I looked and found two kabob shops, one Asian restaurant, and a pizza place. None of which interested me. Luckily there are several grocery store on the same street were you can buy what you need to snack on, eat and drink. There maybe other restaurants in the area that I did not see so if you are interested you should check at the front desk.

The breakfast was decent but rather expensive, in my opinion, for what you get. The cost was 15 Euros and consisted on the usual scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, assorted cheese and meat slices, cereals and fruits.

Overall impression of the hotel is very good! Nice and friendly staff, clean, new and spacious. I would defiantly stay here again!

It was really good, friendly stuff, free movies, quite good location (8 min walk from the matro station).
The only negative: houskeeping always entered our room, meanwhile we were there (on the check out day)
