“A Very Good Tourist Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

Very well located hotel only minutes from the tram and on the edge of the CBD of Vienna. Staff were very pleasant, efficient and helpful. Room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was very good with a wide variety of food available.

As a hotel, this one is great. 5 minutes walk from the Town hall, and 10 minutes from the centre of Vienna. If you are on holiday and sight-seeing and don't need to work it is the ideal place to stay. The rooms are clean, the staff very helpful and each speaking 2 or 3 languages and the food at breakfast was excellent. It is conveniently located for most of sight-seeing in Vienna, and seemed to have a lot of “tourists” staying.
Sadly for me, I was there on business so needed to do work in the room. The Wi-Fi service, whilst provided free, was very hit and miss and prone to keep dropping out. It always took at least two goes to log on, and then 5 minutes later it would drop out.
If going to Vienna on holiday, it is the ideal place to stay, but if you need to work in the evening on your lap-top, choose another hotel.

Dear user Mark F,

thank you very much for your mostly positive comments.
We are very sorry that the WIFI service did not meet your expectations.

In the meantime we installed several service updates from our WIFI provider and the connection is stable now.

We would be happy if you would stay with us once again to convince yourselve.

Best regards to downunder

On paper this hotel looked as if it has it all, great location, reasonable prices and good reviews. Unfortunately, reality didn't match up to expectations!
The location is truly great to cover all of central vienna walking with the furthest point of interest being a 30m gentle stroll so you would save on transportation by staying in this hotel. There are a few good restaurants in the nearby streets which compensate for the pricy breakfast (€16/person) and the sad room service menu (almost non existent).
We've experienced two rooms in this hotel, our original room which was a double deluxe wasn't the nicest of rooms, it had a slight Oder of dogs (the hotel allows for pets) and had two single beds stuck together which apparently is equal to a double bed in Austria!?
As a result and after several calls to the front desk to find a solution to the bed issue, the only option provided was to upgrade to a privilege room for a slightly reduced fee (€20/night) although I would have expected such a solution to be for free.
The privilege room was a nice, clean although not to spacious room. There is an unusual arrangement whereby the toilet was separate from the shower with the toiletries and towels in the toilet making the experience an interesting one. The door to both toilet and shower opened to the main bedroom and the doors were transparent Art Deco design.
The bed was king size and comfy with good pillows but again two separate single dovets rather than one large king size one which meant you will end up outside the covers if you turn to one side! The choice of tv channels was minimal even if you pay the €5/day for satellite channels.
We've tried the breakfast once, the bakery products were nice and there was a good cheese selection.
Overall, I would not stay there again as I think other places would be better value for money.

Room Tip: Go for the privilege rooms if you're happy to pay some more. Normal rooms not recommended

We stayed here just before Christmas and, although a bit difficult to find, located in an alley, the stay was very nice. We were given a duplex suite at no extra cost. Breakfast was included with a fantastic selection (including sparkling wine). Within a short walk of all the main attractions along and around the ringstrasse. Would highly recommend.

This was a great hotel to stay in Vienna. While not directly in the city center it's a pleasant site seeing 10- 15 minute walk. Or even shorter if you hop on the metro which is also right by. The plus of it being out of the center is it's quiet. The hotel provides a decent breakfast although it's a bit pricy. There are plenty of cafes near as well. We arrived pretty early in Vienna and hotel room wasn't ready (understandable). But they managed to still get us in early. The staff was overall pretty young but very kind and helpful. Rooms were big by European standards. Beds were super comfortable. Wifi was free but not very strong. But that is not why you are in Vienna! I would recommend this to anyone.

We stayed here a few days on our Honeymoon. The hotel is really comfortable.. It is situated in a very quiet street but was close to public transport to reach the city. The staff was great, we had to ask them for directions and places of interest couple of times and they were always helpful with maps and as much information they could give. Only thing i found was, the rooms were quite cramped.
