“friendly staff, comfortable room”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 days ago NEW

We truly enjoyed our stay. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The hotel is about a 5-10 minute walk to the Westbanhof train station. From there you can hop on the subway or a city tram.
The breakfast had a great selection. The room was very comfortable, although the bathroom set-up is a little unconventional, we didn't mind it at all.
Thanks for a great stay!

I loved this place: comfortable, great design, well run, amazing breakfast (you don't want to leave the table...) and very clean. Plus eco-consciousness in every detail. What else you can ask for? Nothing. It is just perfect!

I stayed here with my husband end of November/early December 2014. I booked it based on the Tripadvisor reviews, and we weren’t disappointed. The hotel is very clean, the room we had (a Comfort room) was enormous with comfy beds and a sofa, the breakfasts delicious with plenty of choice (and mostly organic foods). Unusually there was a kettle in the hotel room, which was a bonus. Getting there from the airport could not have been easier on the airport bus. The staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the hotel atmosphere very relaxed. I would highly recommend staying here.

If you do, a few things to be aware of. The hotel is further out of the centre than I had realised, but it’s only about 10 minutes on the tram (the stop is around the corner) into the centre so not a problem. The hotel could do with having some blackout curtains in the rooms as the curtains are very thin – not a problem in winter, but I would have struggled to sleep with lighter mornings (I will take a sleep mask next time). The pillow in the room was very flat and my first night was very uncomfortable as a result – there were no spare pillows in the room. However the hotel provided me with a second pillow on request the next day and after that I was fine. There are not many nice restaurants very close to the hotel (and it was very cold and wet when we were there, so we didn't want to have to walk too far exploring). It would be great if the hotel could provide a list on the website or in the room (not all are listed on google it would seem). We had a lovely meal in Konoba Pescaria just up the road on our last night – not cheap, but wonderful food.

We had a lovely time, and hope to return – we will definitely book to stay here again.

Green Features: Plenty of evidence of recycling, notices about the solar panels and other practices, but nothing to inconvenience the guest (apart possibly the lack of fridges in the rooms, but that's not a hardship).

Dear LavenderLouise!
We are very glad to read that you were satisfied with our service and that you had a lovely time!

Thank you so much for your recommendation on Tripadvisor and for your suggestions regarding the blackout curtains. We appreciate your idea and will consider that for the next room renovation. If necessary, please ask at the reception for a sleep mask during your next visit we always have some available.

We would like to recommend you our green city map which can be found on our website, where we provide information on “green” restaurants, shops and bars in Vienna. It could be helpful for the next time. https://www.hotelstadthalle.at/green-city-map.

In addition we provide a list of nearby restaurants by our guest computers in the lobby and our team is always more than happy to suggest you local restaurants or to make dining arrangements for you.

We are looking forward to seeing you again next time you are in Vienna!

Best regards

First and foremost this must be the most eco-friendly hotel I’ve ever stayed in (e.g.they use solar power for heating and water from their well to flush the toilets for example and have been awarded with European eco-label ) and it’s makes the place even more attractive option than what it would be otherwise. For sceptics that is to say, that this environmental awareness doesn’t come at the expense of comfort and cosiness, quite the opposite actually. Their breakfast for example is exceptionally delicious with organic products in abundance.
On a more practical level the room (we have a comfort room on the fourth floor) was spacious with nice little details here and there and it was extremely quiet and peaceful all the time despite the fact that all of the rooms were occupied. Service at the reception was friendly and helpful and I noticed several times that the staff really make an effort to serve and please their customers and they do it fluently in several languages.
Connections to city centre and actually all over the town are good with tram stop just around the corner and a couple of metro stations within few minutes’ walk. The hotel is also easy to reach if you are arriving by plane to Vienna airport as Vienna Airport Lines buses drive from the airport to Westbahnhof station and from there it’s just a short walk to the hotel. On the other hand the location gives great opportunities for those who want to stay off the beaten track and avoid most crowded tourist traps to look for streets and restaurants with more local atmosphere.
All in all I can’t do nothing but highly recommend Boutiquehotel Stadthalle for everyone willing to make the most of their visit to this magnificent city.

Room Tip: Comfort rooms have a view to the garden. It didn't really matter in November but I can imagine t...

The breakfast is excellent (various teas, breads an cereals) and the rooms are quite comfortable.
The hotel location is an added value as it's near the train station and has a tram stop just around the corner.

Loved this hotel! We are spending 5 weeks traveling through Europe and this is the best hotel we've stayed in so far! Our room was spacious and quiet, despite being road-facing, the beds were extremely comfortable, and breakfast was to die for. On top of that the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends!

Just returned from a wonderful two night stay in this wonderful city and splendid hotel. We arrived on the Friday evening at the airport and the hotel had arranged for a car to meet us and drive us back 42 euro but it was worth it to save any hassle. It's about a 30 minute drive to the hotel and upon arrival we were greated by a very friendly receptionist who spoke perfect English. We were given keys and some Austrian chocolate and went to our room whilst we waited for another car to take us to a restaurant. Anyway, the room was lovely, clean, light and airy with very nice furnishings and a view over the courtyard. It was very quiet. Bed was great as was the bathroom. Breakfast was excellent especially the scrambled eggs. I love the artwork that is everywhere and the general sense of calm. The tram (number 49) departs from just around the corner and takes you straight to the centre of all the good stuff in Vienna. Get a Vienna card. The staff are top notch and it's great value. Would I stay again? Yes, in a heartbeat. We loved it.
