This hotel is a gem, just like the beautiful and culturally rich city of Vienna. When I arrived, the front desk expected me, and Micheal at the reception was very helpful, and detailed. He gave me a room upgrade to the Junior suite which was available as I had A-Club Platinum status. Later, he also gave very good lunch and dinner suggestions, which showcased different aspects of the Viennese cuisine. Just like the hotel itself, he gave me little gems of advise, and it was worth it. As the hotel was in a good location some 10-15 minutes walk from all around the major eating places in the city, I had no problems going around.
If you have a chance to book this room, just take it! Its right up on the 7th floor and roomy. There is a sitting area, and its like a built-in glass roof on the side, so you have a very good view in the day if you draw the curtains. A Nespresso machine is available to all, and Loccitane accessories are available in the bathroom. For this room type, you have a complimentary medium-sized bottle of water which is just another good touch of hospitality.
And the breakfast! Oh, man. Prosecco at breakfast, sunflower honey, cherry yogurt, cafe melange and eggs made-to-perfection! Need I say more? While the variety is not as broad as the Intercontinental that I stayed afterwards, they had more than enough variety to satisfy anyone who may be staying 3 nights or more. Definitely value for money, but not just that, there is quality and integrity in preparing the breakfast. The scrambled eggs on the buffet were soft, fluffy and bright yellow.
When I checked out, I used the free drink coupon they gave for Platinum members, and I was surprised they'd let me order anything on the menu - not just the "house" drinks which are usually not so nice. A nice Bellini to send me off to my next hotel, which unfortunately, didn't have any of the charm and warmth of the Hotel Am Konzerthaus!
The only drawback? Its start of convention season and I only got to stay in this lovely hotel for 1 night! I'd definitely come back again.
