“Convenient location but rotten WI FI”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

I have stayed at the NH each year for 5-10 days since 2009 while attending meetings at the IAEA one block away. The good: The location is good, you can walk along the banks of the "old Danube" on a developed trail system that begins just a couple blocks from the hotel and even swim in the river if you wish. The breakfast is fantastic, anything you could want. The hotel is only a couple blocks from two U bahn stations that take you into the heart of the city in 10 minutes. The best rooms are the superior rooms facing the river - the view is outstanding, and they are quiet. The staff is excellent. The Bad: However, the rooms are "cold" with slick, fake wood flooring and not a bit of comfortable furniture. There is nowhere to relax at the end of the day. The WIFI is as bad or worse than other reviewers describe. A free, easy WIFI system is essential in a good hotel and theirs is terribly difficult to access and too slow to do much of anything. I will be moving on to another hotel next visit, I'm tired of feeling as if I'm stuck in an icy cubicle with no access to the outside world. I'll miss the view and the breakfast.

Room Tip: Superior rooms, 18th floor facing the river.

Although this hotel might be considered as a more business oriented hotel, the free wifi they offer was terrible. One of the slowest and most frustrating to use I have seen since years. You have to pay extra to buy additional speed and service in order to use a decent internet. This is not good at all. The rooms are OK, nothing exceptional. Small TV, old fashioned carpet on the floor not good for allergies, and needs a little modernization. Breakfast was spacious and good, nothing to complain on that. Location is not central, but 5 minutes walk to the metro station, which will take you in about 10 minutes to the city centre. Overall, average!

I have been in this hotel twice. It is generally known that NH Hotels offers free wifi. In order to connect to wifi you have to ask the front desk a wifi code that sometimes is not good. Furthermore, you receive 100 mb for internet. Regarding the parking, you may take your chance and park outside but be aware, because you car might be picked up by the local authorities. The inside parking from the nearby office building costs around 25 euro per day, maybe more. The breakfast was good, the rooms in the upper floors are refurbished and they are nicer, the other one down, are not so pleasant. Owerall the rooms were clean. I was really impressed by a receptionist from Phillipines(with glasses; sorry I cant remember his name), he was so nice and always willing to help you. He really liked his job, his friendliness was not a corporate-forced one. I would reccomend this hotel mainly for the clean rooms and fine breakfast.

Friendly staff, clean hotel, next to the metro station, 15 minutes drive away from the city centre. I was here with friends and family. Got 3 rooms, all different. One at 18th floor with a beautiful view over the Danube and one at the 2nd floor with the view in the inner yard (and other rooms). Cannot say I'm to excited about this hotel but if the price is right I will book it again.
They don't have their own parking place and if you don't want to park your car on the streets you have to pay 30 Euros per day for parking.
The prices for the minibar are extremely high (4,90 Euros for a bottle of water).

Room Tip: Ask for rooms at the upper floors with view to the Danube.

90 euro per 2 person / 2 nights. Greatest price ever paid in Vienna Hotel. Nice hi class service, lots of towels each day, nice bathroom, tv and frigo bar in the room with good conditioning sistem. The only "bad" is a position far a way from the center.

went to this hotel back in October for my Birthday to go see family in Vienna (and for a spot of drinking)

service could not be better nor could the food or location....

situated slap bang between 2 U-bahn Stations with 10 minute ride to the city center it was Ideal!!!

Plus the bar man on most evening knew us that well by the 2nd night he only had to see us and our usual drink was on the bar before we even sat down and ordered, he offered amazing advice and his Football knowledge was also excellent!

the hotel was the highlight of our holiday Thank you NH Danube City

The hotels location as far as I was concerned was good since it was just a 5 minutes walk to the UN office. The staff did there best to help make our stay as pleasant as it could be and I specially mention Yasmine who really showed a good effort . The service was OK , The rooms are clean and quiet but average and out of style, The WiFi for the 2nd floor rooms was a disaster (the smokers floor). The breakfast buffet service needs enhancement; Name tags on the dishes, Halal menu will be nice.

Downtown is just 15 minutes by the Metro Station that is just 5 minutes away ( at the Gate 1 of the VIC)

If your on an official trip to the VIC and looking for a quiet good night sleep! then this hotel is a good choice

Room Tip: Avoid the smoking floor if you want a good free WiFi connection. The south side rooms are better fo...
