“Viennese Charm”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2013

Stayed one night in this hotel and it's very well located.

The setting of the room is not modern type but give a taste of Viennese old charm.
The room is clean, comfortable and spacious. Furniture are well maintained.

The bed is comfortable and bathroom is very big and clean.
Breakfast is good and staff service is excellent and friendly.

We were waiting for night train , so we rested few hours at the lounge of the hotel where beverage making facility is provided. Magazines, newspaper and wifi services are provided too to ease the waiting time.
The is the very plus point of the hotel, as not many hotel has lounge where you can use freely.
And it's free of charge.

Naschmarkt is only few blocks away only. Plenty of restaurants nearby.
Short walk to shopping district. Near to underground too.
The hotel is located at perfect location.
Value for money.

I loved this hotel. It is so quaint yet everything is updated. The rooms are clean and overly comfortable with amenities; including a French press coffee maker in the room. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. The location is perfect! It's just across from Naschmarkt, two blocks from U stop, and a short walk from the State Opera House. The hotel even had a Saturday evening mini concert from local music students with complimentary prosecco. When you think of a classic Vienna experience this is it. AND it's very well priced for the area. Wonderful value.

As all reviews say the location is very convenient. Walking distance to MQ, to Opera and St. Stephen's area and even to Belvedere if you don't mind going on foot for 2-ish Km.
The building is beautiful and the room not bad really.
What we liked more is this lounge they have as an extension of the breakfast restaurant and the lobby area where you can chill out with instant coffee or tea. In this place they organize a one-hour classical music concert every Sunday 6-7 pm.
Staff pleasant, helpful and kind, only remark that maid service was coming very early to attend the rooms while we were still there. We put do not disturb label on door to ensure some time to prepare and go.
Breakfast very average nothing mindblowing but ok for the price.
Would return undoubtfully.

The Beethoven is situated just 1 minute from the Naschmarkt that is rightly described as one of the most beautiful markets in Europe and the place where Eastern Europe and the Balkans start. The Beethoven is a building of the 1960s with charm and functional rooms. A lot of Vienna's attractions, i.a. the Secession and the Belvedere, are close.

The breakfast is good and the hotel has a nice lounge area on the 1st floor.

On the downside: I arrived at 9 p.m. after a day of work and wanted to eat something, but there is nothing around which is at this time dinner.

Stayed two nights in November. Easy to find 2 minutes walk from Kalsplatz station. Rooms are not the biggest but we didn't come to Vienna to sit our room. Reception staff very helpful, with good local insight. Breakfast okay, hot breakfast choice limited to egg, sausage and bacon plus toast but continental selection and a good coffee machine. Free concert and wine in the lounge one evening. Would recommend as an excellent base for seeing the city.

We found this hotel on TripAdvisor and based our booking on the great reviews. We were not disappointed. What we didn't expect, however, was that the LOCATION of the hotel was perfect. It is literally a block from the Secession building, a major U-Bahn hub, and within walking distance to the major museums (check out the Leopold, it's amazing) and the Hofburg Palace.

All that *and* we loved our room (Room 503). I recommend staying on the 5th floor, since those rooms have all been recently renovated and are spacious.

Finally, when we were there the hotel mentioned that they were doing construction on the 6th floor (updating rooms), but I didn't hear any noise at all. You may want to see if those new rooms are available when you make your booking.

Staff was great and friendly. The breakfast room was lovely and the breakfast was substantial.

The little things made the biggest difference: 1) free umbrellas available, 2) complimentary copies of the International New York Times, 3) friendly staff, 4) lovely lobby area
