This is a very comfortable hotel in a very comfortable part of town. It is right next to the Naschtmarkt, which was perfect for my husband and me, since we go back and forth on what to do for dinner once evening rolls around. It was so easy to walk over there, peruse the numerous menus, and sit down for a spectacular dinner. We also had fun sniffing spices, trying and buying fancy vinegars, and checking out all of the meat and cheeses! It's also a great place to grab some fruit, cheese, meats, etc...before you head out in the morning, to eat as a nice picnic lunch in any of the parks around any of the palaces :)
The hotel is also right next to the Karlsplatz U-bahn station. If public transportation intimidates you, then this will be perfect for you. The U-bahn is REALLY easy to navigate, and takes you everywhere you'd want to go. The hotel sells tickets (and will give you the U-bahn map and help you figure out how to get where you want to go), so you don't even have to try to figure out the ticket kiosks at the station! The hotel is also an easy 5-10 minute walk to the Museum Quarter and Hoffburg Palace. Another 5-10 minutes, and you'll be at St. Stephan's Cathedral, the Plague Monument, and lots of fun shopping.
Our room was super comfortable, the air-conditioner was quiet, the bathroom was nice, the windows were very tall, and the bed was comfortable. We had room 205, which was a corner room with a nice view of Theatre an der Vien.
We made the reservation through Bookings.com. Once we got to the hotel, we saw in the room that the "posted rate" for that room was 245 Euros....and we didn't pay anywhere near that! I personally would have paid 245 Euros for that room, but felt like I hit the jackpot since I didn't ;) The breakfast is served in a very nice dining room, with lots of choices (fresh fruits, cheeses, cold cuts, eggs, sausage, veggies, breads and spreads, coffees, juices, teas, on and on). The hotel was very lovely and comfortable and wonderfully located. If I get a chance to go back to Vienna, this is where I will be staying.
