“Great hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013 via mobile

We stayed here for 4 nights recently on the start of our 5 weeks in Europe. It's a great place to stay in Vienna, it's location makes it easy to walk into the centre of town, breakfast buffet is first class, and reception staff always friendly and helpful. Can highly recommend it!

This is a great hotel... It has friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast. The best breakfast I ate in a European hotel. It is 15 minutes walking distance to the main street of Vienna, and have good metro connections.

We spent a week at the Best Western Kaiserhof and it was excellent. We had a 4 month old baby and 3 year old and stayed in a suite (bedroom with adjoining living space with pull out couch). It was perfect - very comfortable, service was excellent and friendly and the location was very convenient. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the center and 5 minutes from a park which was very helpful!

The hotel location is very good. It's near the tram, subways and bus stations. In fact, you could just walk from the hotel to the main sites like St. Stephen's cathedral. The staff are all nice and accommodating. The breakfast is wonderful! The food was really good and the service was great! The room was kept tidy. They also have sauna and steam room that you could use. If I was to go back in Vienna, I'd definitely stay in this hotel again! :) so thank you for making our stay in Vienna a comfortable and memorable one. :)

4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

We visited recently for 3 nights and were very impressed with the location, welcome and comfort. Other reviewers have also commented on the convenient situation, the cleanliness and the quality of the breakfast, all of which are justified.
However, problems did arise during our stay, in each case to do with the temperature. The first night it was very hot in the hotel and the air conditioning in the bedroom was having no effect so we had to keep the window open. Unfortunately we were on the "road" side of the hotel and with the window open the noise was troublesome even through the night as well as once the early morning traffic started. The next day one of the receptionists changed the setting for our room thermostat and told us to leave it running so that the room would cool down. This we did, but to our surprise when we returned later in the day the air conditioning was off and our room was still hot. My husband went down to reception (someone else was on duty, as it was night time) and asked if it could be turned on and was told that nobody wanted the rooms cooled now, and we should open the window if we wanted it cooler. My husband said it was noisy and was told "There's no noise"!!! Also we are surprised at the praise for the nearby "Italian" restaurant, which is no such thing. Yes, the food is all right, but that's all, and it's definitely not italian. We found good food at the Naschmarkt, which was a 10-minute walk away. I think if it had not been for this problem (or if we had been in one of the quieter rooms on the other side) we would have given the hotel an excellent rating, but sleep is important!!!

Dear guest, good morning!
First of all we would like to thank you for taking the time to comment you stay with us. Great that you enjoyed your trip to the KAISERHOF and had a comfortable time with us. Concerning the air-condition - it funtiones when you plug your key-card to the eletricity - while opening the window the aircondition will stop as everywhere else. Our heating in the room starts at the outside- temperature of 16°C. Your can also change the temperature yourself +/- 2°C - but as mentioned it only works as in all hotels while have the key-card in the slot.
Best regards from Vienna,
Your KAISERHOF Team

My husband and I recently stayed at the Kaiserhof Hotel in Vienna and we recommend it unreservedly. Upon arrival we were immediately impressed by the warm welcome we received. This warmth continued throughout our entire nine day stay. Our bedroom was pleasing in every way - spacious, well-equipped with a full bath and scrupulously clean. The hotel is situated in a pleasant area with a convenient ten minute walk to the city centre or one minute to a main tram line. This is a stylish hotel with décor which is both relaxing and pleasing to the eye. A clean, quiet hotel with an extraordinarily friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and multi-lingual staff in all areas. The hotel has a café-bar with excellent food and friendly, efficient service. Extensive breakfast choices, prepared to perfection, were included and served by friendly staff in a most elegant setting. We had a car and efficient valet parking was provided by the hotel. We look forward to returning to Vienna and the Kaiserhof.

Having arrived in Vienna, after checking out of a hotel in Hungary, we googled on our phones for hotels on trip advisor site. Kaiserhof was top of the list. We turned up on the off chance of availability and was met with a warm welcome from the Austrian receptionist and The Londoner Mike! Couldn't have wished for a better welcome.
Room extremely clean and welcoming. Shower room delightful after a long day out! Plus having tea and coffee in room was a bonus too.
Could do with two sets of two pillows on the bed, instead of o e set of fairly flat ones: this is a small gripe. The only other thing which let us down was breakfast buffet was on the cold side at 830am - staff did apologise however.

Great location for picking up the red tour bus, two minutes away from the New York Cafe stop.
We had lunch in the cafe and wow what a delight!

The decoration throughout was great and surpassed our expectings of a Best Western chain hotel. Whatever the owners are doing, they're doing it well with the help off a great team behind them.

Will definitely stay again and for longer.

The only thing I really wish for in foreign countries is for English speaking programmes on tv and not the round robin of bbc world news.

Room Tip: We stayed on ground floor with window to the street, was expecting it to be noisy but was pleasantly...
