“Excellent Hotel in perfect location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

This family owned hotel is run with great attention to detail and a very attentive staff. A fabulous breakfast buffet in a lovely winter garden get you ready for a day of exploring the old town of Vienna, which is only a few minutes walk away. When you return in the evening, the hotel bar actually is a nice place for a night cap. Unlike many hotelbars it actually has a bit of atmosphere and a bartender that manages to bring people together. (mind you, this is a rather adult audience... so if you are 20 it may not be your type of place at all)The rooms are large and airy, with pretty bathrooms that provide you with all the amenities. aircon runs quietly and not too cool, but just right. Looooved the rooms. The corridors, lobby and public spaces all held items of the 400years history of the place, whereas the hotel as such is very up to date in amenities and furnishings. The free wifi was a welcomed surprise.

We did dine out every day, so I cannot review the restaurant, but it did advertise traditional viennese food, which seemed a bit rich for the 30 degrees outside...

if you come by road the place is easy to find and you don't have the hustle of having to get into the old town, while being right next to it. Also the hotel has protected parking, you don't even have to hassle with finding it, as they have a free vallet parking for their guests.

All in all a great experience...

Room Tip: Oops there is no pool to my knowledge... But I am not able to remove the star... Choose a room wi...

This hotel was very pretty, the rooms were great, big and had a separate toilet to the bathroom, in the room was a safe and everything you need. As with most of the European cities, take a kettle, not many provide it in their rooms, it's not one of the things they do.we visited a lot of cities on this trip and only Our Bucharest hotel had this facility as standard. Would return here, Vienna is stunning.

Room Tip: All would be ok, it was not noisy around the hotel at all

Dear Dawn L,

We are happy to read that you found our Hotel Stefanie to be “very pretty” and that you enjoyed your vacation.

Regarding the kettle: we actually do offer it but do not put it automatically in every room. So do not take one from home, just ask our reception staff. The colleagues will organise it for you in short time!

Looking forward to your next visit in our beautiful city, we remain,

with best regards

Wnet to hotel Stefanie in June. Very classy hotel. Really enjoyed my stay. Unfortunately, one of the managers her name was Anna Carina, was not friendly at all. She always spole to me with a certain condescendent tone! Both days she was on duty during the day, any time i asked her a question she referred me to a collegue, and it is not like she was busy. When i left, she did not even bother to ask me how i liked my stay at the hotel or if all was fine. The rest of the staff was top noch. Maybe because i travelled with a back pack. I worked in Customer service many years and learned that you don't judge people by their appearance. She never smiled or asked me if i needed something. I Wonder how she made it to manager! Anyway, other than that all was a great. The restaurant however was very expensive. I only ate one evening meal there but enjoyed the breakfeast buffet. They even had salmon and so much variety. I would recommend this hotel any time easy access with Ubahn 1, just get off at Schweden Platz. Walk barely 200 metres. Also, there is a Billa near the hotel, so you can buy food cheap (something like a IGA or in the US a Wegman). The rooms have minibars, so i stored my food there. Would certainly go back.

Thank you for your nice comments and your detailed review. We are happy to read that you really enjoyed your stay and would come back!

Your remark regarding the offered reception service has been noticed and taken as an important improvement suggestion. We are just going to organize internal training for our employees in order to provide and grant the best possible service for all our guests.

We thank you for your constructive critic and hope to become soon a chance to show you our service and quality consciousness.

We stayed at the hotel as part of a group. I found that the way things were organised was not as I would expect a professional organisation to operate. I think that the hotel has become complacent and needs to review its' customer service. The location is excellent and the rooms are nice.

Dear fred_pollak,

Thank you for informing us about your experience. We are sorry that the meeting facilities as well as the menu selection did not convince you.

Please be informed that the entire event has been planed with Fam. Spira, who agreed with the meeting room and choose the reduced menu selection.

We regret that we did not fulfil your expectations but hope that you still enjoyed your stay.

This is an excellent hotel, which we discovered through booking.com. The hotel is only a few minutes walk to the transport systems. It is also convenient for walking into the city.
The hotel is clean and comfortable. The staff are very polite and friendly and they provide a very efficient service.

The food is excellent. We treated ourselves to an evening meal, which we thoroughly recommend.

You can ask for alternative pillows and even request tea/coffee making facilities.(not quite British standard but nice to have).

Check out times run up to midday.

If ever we are back in Vienna, we will definitely looking up this hotel.

Room Tip: Air conditioning a bit noisy at times. We have no real complaint about our room, though it did ne...

Great location, great service, very clean, tidy elegant hotel, very good breakfast, nice price for single room. The staff on the desk were also very helpful in organising an extra nights stay at short notice. The hotel is within walking distance of all the main attractions but if you do not like walking, nearby Schwedenplatz metro gives access to everywhere. The hotel is also near Mochi - one my favourite restaurants

One niggle was that the cleaning staff knocked on the door at 0830 on some mornings but this doesn't affect my star rating and I would certainly stay there again when in Vienna
