“old vienna”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

From an older age of grand hotels, but this is not too large. Service is excellent. Location is good, just over the Danube from the exciting City centre. The rooms are a little old fashioned but it all works very well. My second time here.

Room Tip: there are long corridors tot he rear rooms

“Opulence at a fair price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

This hotel was luxurious from start to finish, but not with the luxurious price tag. Our room was not only spacious, but we got a rather large bath! Beautifully fluffy towels. Breakfast was a real treat, and one morning we had our champagne breakfast. The buffet certainly outranked the usual European fare, and the wait staff were ready to attend to our every need. Close to the city centre, after a short walk, but this was welcome after all the Viennese schnitzels we had consumed! Well worth a recommendation, and will be staying there again.

“great location and clean rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

this hotel is in an AWESOME location. close to the airplane bus and all things vienna. most definitely a good buy if you get a very low room rate. the rooms are noisy due to the staff constantly cleaning in the hallways. perfect if you are not looking for a little rest and relaxation along with your world wind visit to vienna. if you want to relax and enjoy some services (the room, spa, room service, other) AND the city. i suggest one of the other numerous hotels in the city.

“hotel with decor”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

We spent a lovely week in Vienna over the Christmas period and the choice of our hotel was the cherry on the cake. We asked for a non-smoking quiet room so we got one at the back. Nothing fancy but very comfortable and a good size too. It also had a big bathroom with large bath. We got a kettle in our room because we asked for it at no extra cost. The lavishing breakfast is to die for and we suggest you try the restaurant in the evening too. All the staff had pleasant personalities and can communicate very well in English. They also helped us to buy our transport tickets and an excursion. Hotel Stefanie is just a few minutes walk to the Metro across the bridge and within walking distance to shopping areas. Warm clothing and comfortable shoes are highly recommended for Vienna. Obviously one cannot miss out on Hofburg. We strongly recommend this hotel as we will definitely return.

Room Tip: Whenever we travel we always ask for a nice quiet room and so far this has always worked for us.

“Great breakfast, poorly lit rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013

This hotel is in a good location; very close to shopping and restaurants. The breakfast buffet is amazing. There are so many choices and the coffee is marvelous. The draw back comes when you get to your room. It's dark and dreary. None of the bulbs have high wattage. They want to conserve energy but really?! My room faced another building so I got very little light. It had a negative impact on me as the room was quite depressing. The fact that the room was also very, very small didn't help. It just felt dreary and depressing. I took every opportunity I could to stay out of it. At least the buffet was delicious. I will never stay there again.

Dear R C,

Thank you for informing us about your experience.

With pleasure we read that you were very satisfied with the hotel location and the breakfast buffet.

We regret that you were disappointed about your room that simply did not fulfill your expectations. We offer different room categories and would be pleased to advice you at the time of your next booking.

Your critic regarding the darkness of the room has been noticed and we thank you for steering our attention to this matter. The lightness of the chosen bulbs will be controlled by our technician.

We hope you will give us a further opportunity to convince you and would therefore be pleased to welcome you back in future.

In the meantime, we remain,

with best regards from Vienna
