I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights during a round trip through Austria. Great hotel with a spacious room. Very friendly staff, at reception, during breakfast and at night in the restaurant/bar.
The room was very clean, modern with a very good bathroom / separate toilet. Beware of the glass wall in the shower when travelling with platonic partners. There is a TV with English channels, free Wifi without password, a safe and hair dryer in the room (not a tiny hotel one, but one you would have at home). There is no closet for clothes, but there are hooks and clothes hangers. There was a little wooden bench in the room, but no chair or table. Air conditioning available, easy to operate and you can turn it off.
One little annoyance: the curtains are electronically operated blinds. The sound carries from other rooms. Somewhere near my room there was someone playing with the blinds early in the morning, quite annoying. Otherwise the rooms were quiet - my room was next to the stairwell and I didn't hear any other guests.
Excellent buffet-style breakfast. The only thing was that there was not enough room at breakfast rush hour and people had to wait ( I was just in time). The breakfast is just so good that people stay seated for long after they finish eating. On my last day I had to leave early and got a take-away breakfast from the nice staff.
There is a restaurant in the hotel with excellent kitchen. I had one dinner there (the falafel) with homemade lemonade (in a bucket-sized glass :o)) which was the best dinner I had in Austria. They also just let you be when dining alone. Most restaurants tend to serve you ultra fast to clear the table or they assume you don't like eating alone, but not here. Highly recommended!
The location of the hotel is near the main station (15 min walk), but S-bahn station Quartier Belvedere is closer. Schloss Belvedere is next door to the hotel. The center of town is a bit further. It can be walked if you have time and the weather is good, but there are different tram stops close to the hotel that go into town as well. The hotel lets you rent a bike or scooter for the day, or you can take the Viennese city bikes. There is a stand near the entrance to Oberes Belvedere.
