“Stylish design, good food, great bar and hip yet professional staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

I have stayed at this hotel about a dozen times on business just before moving to a very nice rooftop apartment in the 5th district of Vienna, close to the hotel. I have tried all room categories and they all have their own charm. The breakfast buffet is versatile and tasty. In the restaurant / bar, I love their burgers and they do awesome cocktails.
But the best in the hotel is the STAFF. They are all young and hip, but at the same time very professional and caring.
A fter a strenuous day at work, I still go there often to just “hang out” at the bar and chat with their staff.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this hotel!
Rainer Ludwig, Vienna, Austria

Room Tip: I like their Suites the best.

Service is rude and they can't indicate you good restaurant even though they are located 3 minutes away from the hotel (i.e. Schloss Quadrat)
This building is very old and somehow refurbished. They forgot to renew the lift... Don't be in a hurry and do not forget something in your room or you'll wait very long time to catch the lift because its very slow.
Also their RFID keys are a joke. I went down 3 times because the key was not working (and yes it took me 20 minutes with the damn slow elevator).
I slept two nights and what was my surprise the 2nd morning: They trashed my soap I left in the shower. They were no soap at all !!!!!!!!
On top of that the WiFi is extremely expensive (as is the breakfast)
If your claustrophobic don't try the gym.
Please avoid this hotel at all cost.

As many other reviews on here allude to, the staff are a little indifferent at times.

Hotel, is clean and very nice inside, the bar is well stocked with a variety of beverages available.

Hotel is reasonably central, around a ten minute walk to old town

although it's in almost central location, Pentahotel does not deserve its stars ! I have never stood at a 4 stars hotel without a room minibar. the hotel internet in the lobby is totally useless, although they are using MAC computers. The room was cold and the bathroom floor was damaged. More, the service was terrible, the reception people are also waiters, which is a totaly different job and requires different skills !

The hotel as mentioned before is like a night club inside. You check in at the bar, sometimes waiting while drinks are served. Decor is very different with disco balls on the ceiling, cow hide cushions, a pool table and other unique features. The lifts continue this theme and when you reach the bedroom floors it is quite dark and the decor still a bit out there.
The rooms are very clean and comfortable, a little smaller than most.
The area is a little isolated but not too difficult to walk to some locations, and taxis are reasonable.
Dinner in hotel were reasonably priced and delicious.
Soundproofing is not good. We could hear everything said in hallway, although between rooms was better.
Biggest disappointment was breakfast. it may have been fine but at €20 per person we didn't have breakfast there. For any hotel, let alone Vienna, this is an outrageous price for breakfast.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room. Building going on out the front and quite noisy.

When you come into the hotel you're sure you've stepped into a discotheque. The decoration is really cool. The bar double times as the reception which is cool, but at times annoying when you wait for the receptionist to finish fixing some drinks...
It is located a few minutes walk from the U-bahn which is not a nuisance unless the weather is really bad (it can happen in Vienna).
The rooms are very modernly designed and are clean. Moreover, the especially designed shampoo and bathing soap are really cool and of good quality.
Note that the breakfast is very expensive (20Eu per person) and that Wifi is not free (but there's free internet access in the lobby). On the bright side though, the hotel has its own taxi service to and from the hotel which is around 20% cheaper than the equivalent airport-operated service (but reserve in advance!).
All in all - good hotel. We'll be back!

Room Tip: No free Wifi in the rooms

the hotel is very nice, modern and the lobby is amazing, very dramatic and one of the best modern interior designs i've seen in a hotel. problem is the location, it is pretty far from everything, it is a long walk to the historical centre and the area around the hotel has nothing and not so charming.
