We had a simple, but big room; very friendly staff; a good, central location; clean; good price. Recommended.

We traveled to Vienna for New Years 2007 and could not believe the room we were given at Pension Sherman. It was AMAZING! The hotel room was more like an apartment with its own private entrance, a large bathroom with terrific shower pressure, a long hallway that leads into a beautiful bedroom with one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on. For the price, location, breakfast, fantastic staff, and room, we could not imagine staying anywhere else in Vienna! The only downfall we can think of is that our room was only cleaned one of the mornings we were there (3 nights) but we were also sleeping in pretty late following the New Years eve bash. The room was spotless when we arrived though, so it was not a problem. We would definitely reccommend this fabulous hotel!

We stayed for three nights and realy enjoyed it. The rooms were bright and clean with the snuggest duvets i have slept under in a while. Staff were so helpful with directions, where to go and the names of good places to eat. If you want to stay in a hotel that reflects the true Vienna rather than a hotel that could be Dublin, Rome or New York check out the Shermin

We stayed here for 4 nights. Basically booked it because of the great reviews it got here.
And it did not disappoint: the hotel is truly at a great location; just a few blocks from the Karlsplatz subway station (main hub, goes to almost anything you'd wanna visit in Vienna).
It's also conveniently close to the city center (about a 5-10 minute walk). We actually walked to most things in the center: Stephansdom, Staatsoper, Majolikahaus, Secession, Hofburg, Ankeruhr...

It seemed like the room we got was a former appartment and it was huge. Bed, TV, couch, desk and some closetspace in the room, with the toilet & shower in a separate room down the hall (all within the "appartment", so private).

Breakfast was OK; bread, toast, sugarbread, tea, variety of cheese etc.

Staff was nice and all spoke English.

There was a supermarket right across the street, always handy to get some discount drinks & Mozart Kugeln.

Overall I'd recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay to conveniently discover Vienna; the location is just great and the price is perfect. The rooms are big & clean, though don't expect any flatscreen TV's or jacuzzi ; )
