This was a great hotel, immaculately clean with friendly staff. The hotel is situated just off the main shopping street in Vienna, and a 2 minute walk to the Zieglergasse U-Bahn station, from which it is a 5 minute ride to Stephansplatz in the centre of Vienna! So its very easy to get around Vienna if this hotel is your base. Don't be put off by the fact this hotel isn't in the inner circle of Vienna; I found it much better to be based just outside it, as in the inner circle we found restaurant and hotel prices very expensive and not very good value for money. This hotel was great value and surrounded by reasonably priced cafes and restaurants on the Mariahilfer strasse, yet you could still walk to all the main attractions in about 15 mins or get the subway in 5mins. The breakfast in this hotel was the best I've had at a hotel, with hot sausages and eggs as well as breads and meat, pastries, yoghurts and fruits. There's free internet in the lobby, which is very handy. The rooms are kept spotlessly clean, and we were very pleased with how modern they looked. Overall I couldn't have picked a better hotel for our stay in Vienna. As for Vienna itself, it's the best city I've ever been to, better than Paris, London and New York! The people are so nice and helpful, and I wish I lived there as the transport system and general quality of life seems amazing, no wonder it was recently voted the world's number 1 city for quality of life! One thing not to miss while you're in Vienna is the Wiener Prater! This is a large park with a theme park in it, which is great for a night time activity. We went on the famous big wheel to see over the whole of Vienna, I'm scared of heights, so didn't appreciate it as much as some would, but it's definetely worth a trip! Another tip is to check out the cafe in the Spanish Riding School, its 5euros for coffee/tea/hot chocolate and an apple strudel/chocolate cake, much much cheaper than the Starbucks across the road (about 5euros for a coffee alone!) and its excellent quality.

I booked this hotel based on tripadvisor reviews. I thought it was a good hotel for the price. When we first arrived, the guy at the front desk was rude. After he was gone the other people at the concierge were very helpful. The wifi at this hotel is not the greatest. It went out on us twice. The room is also very hot in the summer and they offer you a fan but it was not enough. We opened all the windows and turned on the fan but were still sweating. The front desk couldn't find an extra fan so we had to sleep in our sweat, which was not fun. The city center was a really short distance from the hotel and there is a supermarket on the way. During the end of our stay, Christina (the girl at the front desk) was very helpful! She helped me find directions to the Salzburg and Hallstatt. I really liked her and she redeemed for the guy I spoke to the day before. Overall, the hotel was satisfying. I may not come back again in the summer but maybe during the other seasons.

I usually stay at budget hotels. I got a room for 2 for 4 nights for a budget price and this hotel is so much better than I'm used to. The room was perfect except for the missing aircondition. There was a fan in the room that was not working. It wasn't a probem, though. Our room was away from the street and it was no problem to have the windows open. The location of the hotel is great. 3 min from the u-bahn, which is 2 stations from the ring and 4 from the centre. I would recormend this hotel.

But not quite. If the rooms have air-conditioning I would not have been able to fault it. Whilst the hotel did provide a large fan, it was still very very warm in the room, even on a cooler day. But other than that, excellent. Lovely big room, fine breakfasts, friendly staff and a good central loaction very near to the wonderful metro. One of the best hotels we have stayed at, and highly recommended.
