“Let down by the small room”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2012

Good location, elegant lobby. Decent breakfast and free wifi - I even got two codes; one for my phone and one for my laptop. And the restaurant wasn't bad either as I'm not usually a big fan of hotel dining.

Room was like a mini suite with a separate large bathroom, a separate WC, tiny lobby and small bedroom. The bedroom was a bit pokey for the price - the tv was on a bracket high up on the wall to give you enough space to move around the bed. That and the frosted glass on to the central light well made the room feel a bit sad.

This hotel relaxed me with its efficient check in and the ambiance of the lobby area; everything was relaxed but handled with professional courtesy
The hotel has a style that is timeless everything is clean and understated. The rooms are not new but clean and well furnished, the fittings matched the hotel experience.
The staff we encountered were friendly and professional. We used the restaurant and the breakfast room. Both were well run good value and managed by hands on managers that understood customer experience is about the little things.
The internet is free if you select the correct option just spend a minute and have a look before you click accept
This hotel made me feel good all too often a hotel does not do that the Hotel France deservers it rating

From the moment we arrived the hotel delivered, the check in was professional, efficient and friendly. The lobby area was impressive in an elegant timeless way. It is not "look at me" Hilton style but a timeless graceful style.
The room as was everywhere else in the hotel was spotless, the staffs were helpful without being intrusive.
The hotel is perfectly placed to enjoy Vienna on foot or by Vienna’s excellent public transport.
The breakfast deservers a special mention, this is served in an elegant blue room overseen by a professional staff, the selection presented at buffet has something for everyone.
This hotel symbolises what is good in Vienna, we will return

Hotel situated in the city center, with good access to public transportation. A cash point just 10 m to the right. It is one of the most traditional hotels in Vienna. Service is good, very correct and polite employees, ready to help. Rooms spacious and clean. If you are sensitive to noise, check that you do not get one in the first floors, at the street side.
Good hotel for conventions. Ideal for the lovers of classic buildings and decoration.

Ideally placed for public transport and for a pleasant stroll into the Innere Stadt. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, if a little old-fashioned. Corridors and rooms starting to look a tad shabby, but public areas generally very tasteful, and again, comfortable. Great bar and lounge area, very good breakfast buffet, and the usual mix of helpful, hopeless, friendly and self-important staff that one would find in most establishments.
Our air conditioning was pretty useless it must be said, and this is by no means a five-star hotel, but if you get a good deal, as we did, it's a perfectly sound base for a city break style weekend.

Roomw need updating. Location and staffs are good. Breakfast is good. However the rooms were not up toour standards. And not good match for excellent exterior and lobby. We got a junior suite which was in 2 level. One tv in each level. Everytime we turn one tv the other one would go on! Location is good near station and city centre
