“Very central, very comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

Surprisingly good value in a very central location in Old Vienna. Easy walking distance to many tourist attractions and close to the UBahn to reach the business districts. My room was unexpectedly quiet and spacious, but I'm not sure if they all are - the hotel has two buildings on either side of the street and I stayed in the main one which also houses reception. I would happily return here if in Vienna again.

The room was clean and modern with a very comfortable bed.

The hotel was located in the first district and easy to walk to the major tourist attractions or else a subway ride from Karlsplatz.

Staff were very friendly.

Only issue was that the lifts were being renovated which resulted in waiting a long time to take our luggage to the 5th floor.

Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Elevators were being renovated - check that they are working in case you want to reserve a room on t...

This hotel was situated only one block away from a busy pedestrian street but you would have never known it. The hotel was quiet, clean, modern and cool in the middle of summer. The rooms are small but nicely appointed. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. It was an excellent choice for a stay near the river, the ring and public transportation. I would definitely stay there again ... and would try this chain in other European cities as well.

This hotel is located within the old part of central Vienna and we were able to walk everywhere, although we did get sore feet after 3 days! Our room was reasonably sized and quite adequate if not exciting - the decor throughout could have done with a makeover. As is common in many hotels, the lighting was bad and one bedside lamp had a broken part. We were lent a lamp in its place which was only just okay but the staff were helpful and did their best. One of the two small lifts was under repair for a day or so which made access rather slow at times.
The breakfast buffet had a good selection of food but only one 2-slice toaster. This seems to be very common in Europe and could be very easily fixed by getting a larger one or a couple of extras.
Would we stay here again? Probably, if we could get a good price.

Convenient, clean and friendly. Lovely room, good choice at breakfast, not too good at English cup of tea! Wonderfully handy for sights and public transport.

First of all, the location is excellent: just 5 a minute walk to the Stephansplatz. Schwedenplatz is even closer. Due to this, many of the sights are within a walking distance and easily accessible by U-bahn. There are a huge amount of restaurants, bars, shops and ice-cream bars around.

We had reserved a premier room in the main building. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. I believe the room has been quite recently renovated. I would have liked to have some more space for the clothes and would have liked a proper armchair. Had I been on a business trip, I would have liked a larger working desk. Anyway, these were pretty minor items to complain about.

The hotel staff is very friendly, polite, hospitable and efficient. There was an accident at the hotel terrace and my wife's clothes were soaked in sparkling wine. The situation was very well taken care of by the hotel at the spot and afterwards.

The airport bus stop is just a few minutes from the hotel by walk. We had some difficulties to find the hotel, because I was trying to find Fleischmarkt 1 with the navigator, not 1a: these addresses are not next to each other as I thought, but they are 200m apart. The hotel (@ 1a) is where Fleischmarkt meets Rotgasse.

I'd like to recommend Weibel's Wirtshaus for schitzel. According to locals it is less "touristic" than the often praised Figlmüller. Also, we had great italian food at Dai Fratelli. During June - August, I believe, there is a food market / food court in the front of Rathaus. We found it to be a nice place for a lunch.

One day we wanted to see different Austria near Wien: we took a train to Melk and a boat downstream Donau to Spitz. In Spitz we walked among the vineyards along a "Weinwanderweg". From Spitz we continued by boat to Krems and took a train back to Wien. I highly recommend this trip, if you want to see different Austria and where the great Austrian wines come from. The area is called Wachau and it is one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Overall, I can recommend this hotel.

Great hotel in a very convenient spot. Very nice room with comfy bed and a great bathroom. We had a little difficulty finding it when we arrived by boat from Bratislava it being at the far end of the street beyond number 1 and over a crossroad. We found the staff to be very helpful.
