“Best Hotel in Vienna”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We stayed at the Hotel Sacher for 4 days in July 2014.It was an incredible experience. The hotel is beautiful, in mint condition and in a perfect location which allowed us to walk to sightseeing , meals, shopping...etc. The staff was very kind, helpful and knowledgeable including. the doorman, front desk, concierge, room service, housekeeping. We returned to our room every afternoon to find a delicious selection of treats which of course includes the famous Sacher Torte.
We enjoyed a special dinner celebration in the hotel's restaurant. Overall, it was fabulous.

Room Tip: We had a corner suite with fabulous views.

We stayed four days/nights in June 2014. This is deservedly-known as a first class hotel, and we can't wait to return.

We arrived in Vienna by train (from Prague) and were picked up by an English-speaking driver in full size Mercedes van. Upon arrival, the doorman greeted us by name, ushered us into the hotel, and got our bags---all very efficiently. The check-in was smooth, and we were upgraded to junior suites.

The rooms were spacious and well decorated---very Viennese. There was plenty of lighting, beautiful windows and drapes, a comfortable bed, nice sized closet, and large marble bathroom with separate shower and full size tub. Everything worked, which takes a dedicated staff. The only negative, and it wasn't really that, was that virtually every lamp shade in the bedroom was off-kilter, like the maid had a heavy hand with the duster, or perhaps a rollicking fist fight preceded our arrival? I fixed the shades.

Service was impeccable--not just in the hotel, but also in the restaurants.

We love the Sacher and cannot wait to return soon.

Tips: Leave the massive brass keys at the front desk when leaving for the day. The cord in the toilet and by the tub isn't for the fan---its a SOS alarm. Most cords are so labeled, but some are not... The water pressure is excellent, hot or cold, so the sign that warns that the tub can fill in 3 minutes is not too far off.

Room Tip: There are double windows, and the rooms are solidly built, so noise (from inside or out) isn't a...

I have stayed in many world-class hotels, but Hotel Sacher is in a class by itself. You feel special the minute you stop your car in front at Philharmonikergasse 4. From then on you will be pampered all the way--yet all in an inimitably discreet. The staff are warm and friendly--all eager to please but not unobtrusively so. The entire hotel is a thrilling blend of tradition and modern creature comforts. The sound is muffled, no noise is heard. The drawers and sliding doors are all engineered to close softly. The bathroom was spectacularly comfortable as was the room. When I asked an attendant whether it was possible to do x.... The answer was: "Anything is possible." I know I will return.

Room Tip: Our room was not one of the most sumptuous but it sure was luxurious. I doubt there's a "ba...

Sacher is the absolute must stay while being in Vienna.

The whole experience is unique, from the fabulous breakfast that has an unimaginable choice including the famous Sacher Torte to your own selection of fruits and chocolates in the room. Sacher is perfect for brunches.

Sacher's spa is world renown for it's chocolate treatments and has a herbal steaming room/sauna/ rest room and an ice cube fountain for health addicts. Complimentary teas and dry fruits.

Design is grand and sumptuous and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Definitive must stay!

We had a four night stay end of May to celebrate a special birthday of my wife. This was our third visit to Vienna, first time in the Sacher, but she thinks this birthday treat was her best ever - not just in Vienna but anywhere. This was not least due to the anbience & staff of the Sacher Hotel.

A wonderful weekend away celebrating a significant Anniversary was made even more special by the care and attention to detail of every member of staff at this amazingly charming Viennese hotel, where nothing is too large nor too small to be dealt with. Small touches make a big difference - such as having your luggage delivered to your room and being greeted by name, despite the hotel being very busy. My personal highpoint - the bar steward remembering which gin I liked in my Martini!
The spa is sumptuous and luxurious and an excellent place to while away a few hours being pampered. There is a thermal spa which is a very relaxing environment before receiving treatments, but it is worth noting that this area nude and mixed gender.
The Rote Bar serves typical Austrian food, which is of outstanding quality but be warned the portion sizes are enormous! If the Cafe is busy the concierge will even ensure hotel guests do not have to queue before sampling the famous Sacher Torte and a coffee or exquisite heisse schokolade!

Our first trip to Vienna. Of course we had heard of Sacher Torte (although, surprisingly, I had never tried one). But we did not know, until this trip, from where the Sacher Torte had originated.

This beautiful old hotel is a perfect combination; they have managed to maintain all its old beauty and grandeur while at the same time, updating it so that it feels comfortable to today's traveler. I would, without question, return to this hotel.

Our room was a junior suite. It was not that spacious, but large enough, with a king sized bed, nightstands, a beautiful sofa and table at the end of the bed, a desk, tv and stand, etc. The closets were beautiful built in cabinets that lined almost an entire wall. The ceilings were incredibly high, with beautiful and, I assume, original moldings. And a large chandelier in the center. I know I have used the word already, more than once, but it was just a beautiful room. And it had two large windows and one set of french doors leading to a small terrace that overlooked the Opera.

The bathroom was equally impressive. It was very large, with a bathtub lining one wall, two sinks, a separate walk in shower, and small separate room for the toilet/bidet. Everything in the bathroom was perfectly modern. The tub was particularly comfortable. There was a television built in to the mirror, there was a large towel warmer, and there were luxurious bathrobes.

The effect of all of this was luxurious and comfortable.

The food was fantastic, and the service was impeccable. I look forward to our next trip to Vienna and the Hotel Sacher.
