Me and my wife stayed at the GRAND HOTEL WIEN this december. We wanted to have a romantic weekend and that is just what this hotel offered.
We were looking for a hotel, which can provide a Christmas fairy tale in Vienna. To experience Vienna the best way possible and and have the oportunity to feel the christmas spirit at every corner.
When we first saw the hotel's web site, we were fascinated by the beautiful rooms and suites, the lobby and of course the location of the hotel. So we decided to contact the hotel by e-mail. The answer on our inquery was fast and pleasant. The lady who was doing our reservation, was doing her best by making our wishes come true.
And so it was - as we arrived, everything was prepared and our car was elegantely driven to the hotel garage by nice personel.
As we entered the hotel, we were fascinated! A whole new world! No more rush and noice from the streets-the piano man was playing under the big and beautifully decorated christmas tree. We just looked at eachother with my wife and smiled - that was just what we were looking for. Perfect.
We were acompained to our room. It had 'The Ring' wiev as agread, well the room had EVERYTHING, just as seen on the pictures on the internet. The furniture exclusively chosen and so were the colours in the whole room. Really luxsurious and spaceous.
Also the bathroom is a fascination - floor heating, really clean, separated toillet and bide. The bath tub was huge.
The next astonishing future the hotel provides is the direct acces to the shoping mall. You don't even have to wear a coat. You just simply leave your room, take the elevator and enter the shoping centre.
At eight o'clock in the evening of our first day, we reserved a table for the dinner in the most exclusive restaurant in Vienna - on the top floor of the Grand Hotel Wien, the gourmet restaurant 'Le Ciel' is located. Really the place to visit, especially if you are looking for a classy and romantic dinner with spectacular view over the roofs of Vienna. gain, the personel perfectly noble and pleasant. Up to 4 people were making our dinner the best possible.
Our experience at The Grand Hotel Wien was the best possible and we are really looking forward to visit it again. The price was good and the hotel really deserves the tittle: the best place to be and to be seen in Vienna!
The leading hotels of the world are now our primary destinations where ever we will go! And in Vienna, this is absolutelly GRAND HOTEL WIEN.
The Grand hotel can be visited by really high and classy guest, who are looking the best service, the best location in Vienna. It is simply a MUST for high society guests and guests who are looking for accomodation where they will feel like kings.

I stayed for 4 nights at Grand Hotel Vienna in a Superior room and all I can say is that it's simply amazing! The Hotel staff is very helpful and polite and because we stayed during Christmas eve, they even decorated our room with a small (table) Christmas tree with cookies etc.
Very highly recommended and on a VERY nice and convinient location!

We stayed at the Grand Hotel Wien for 4 nights earlier this month and left with absolutely nothing negative to say in any regard..from our reception at arrival to service given us throughout..up to and including our check out at 0500 on a Sunday morning....this included phone calls and translations made on our behalf after an unfortunate incident at the Westbahnhof train station. Be assured that all future visits to Vienna will include The Grand Hotel Wien as our residence.

A very nice hotel, excellent location, but the service level does not meet the pricing expectations.

Check in took an extremely long time and there were at least 2 front desk employees spending more time looking at a printer and chatting then worrying about guests. Lobby seemed very busy with lots and lots of people and guest being ignored.

Breakfast 30 euros! It is nice, but again the service level was poor for that price range. 2nd pot of coffee meant you had to get up and find a server to help, dishes stayed on table until you got up, several tables were left for 15-20 minutes waiting to have the dishes removed. They want you in and out, not a relaxing vacation type breakfast. Buffet is nice, food is good, order hot food from a limited menu, but for 30 euros, expect better service.

Concierge - Isn't this by definition someone that should be helpful? Not in this case. Especially again for the price of rooms, I would have expected much better performance from the concierge. Asked for tickets to an event, was told not a problem, went to get tickets the morning of the event and they were still "waiting" on their ticket broker - went back to room and did it myself on line (internet is free, but local phone calls will cost!) They give you a small map of center and can give some directions, but don't count on top service even though you are paying top price.

Rooms were very nice, always clean. A little disappointed in the bath amenities.

Nice place, good location, beautiful city and great time of year to visit, just not sure that I would return as I think for this kind of money there is much better choices, like the Arcadia Hotel in Bratislava!
