“Budapest and Prague Tours - Great Customer Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2012

We enjoyed two day tours with Vienna a la carte, Budapest and Vienna, and we particularly enjoyed our Budapest tour. Johann is an experienced guide who gave us attentive service the entire trip, making sure we were comfortable and checked in on what we wanted to see and in what order, ensuring we had appropriate breaks and lunch/shopping wherein the trip we wanted. The city is wonderful, and seeing it so efficiently was truly a treat.

Prague was a less-favorite city, but again seeing it via private tour is not only efficient but, given the cost of hotel and train and the inconvenience of indirect train routes, it is a better deal to hire a private company. Our guide from Vienna a la carte was knowledgeable, but we were left in the care of a Czech guide was in the city. We had a very well-laid tour of the city from the castle down to the shopping district, but it was brisk, so you would be surprised how quickly your day goes in Prague. If you love shopping, the end of the tour is a treat, as the guide leaves you at a restaurant with charming local cuisine nearby plenty of shops, pointing out famous Czech crystal and other local treasures.

Some of our favorite parts of our trips had nothing to do with the actual city tours at all, from Max's personal knowledge of Bundesland and the vineyards to Johann's ability to communicate in Hungarian. Each guide made sure we had a halfway stop into the cities, for a bathroom break and a quick bite to eat.

We very much appreciated the customer service provided by Ulrich, who has a very obvious hands-on approach to managing his company. If we had an issue, he took care of it right away, and that is something you don't find much any more. We would recommend Vienna a la Carte without hesitation and hope to use them again in the future.

“Vienna in a day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

We had the pleasure of meeting Uhlrich for a 1/2 day Segway Tour and 1/2 day Bike Ride. These guided tours were absolute highlights of our trip to Vienna. I still can't believe how much we got to see in 1 day. Uhlrich is very knowledgeable and friendly. He was good enough to drop us off at a fantastic restaurant for lunch and picked us up afterwards for the start of our bike ride. We really enjoyed this day and whilst we saw so much, the pace is perfect. I would recommend Uhlrich to anyone wanting to see Vienna in one day.

“Vienna accelerated”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012

Ulrich is a great storyteller and in only 2 hours gave us a brilliant whistle stop overview of the of the City. His grasp of the history may be impressive but what is really stunning is the way that he can relate historical observation to insights about what it is like to live in Vienna today. He has sharp antennae. One of our party can have trouble hearing and he made sure that she could follow him. Another has a troublesome hip and he was brilliant at anticipating where benches might enable a quick rest. A private guide is not a budget option but Vienna a la carte offers terrific value for money.

“Hop on Hop Off tour of Vienna”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2012

We had a 4 hour stop over in Vienna on the train on our way down from Prague to Venice.

Ulrich met us at the train station with bottles of water and a nice clean car. He then spent the next 3 hours showing us the sites of Vienna. His knowledge was excellent and it was a fantastic way to fill in some time between trains. I would definitely book him again next time I'm in Austria.

“Musical Sites in Vienna”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

Ms. Koller was an outstanding guide. She had a vast knowledge of music and composers. Her pace was excellent; she was very adaptable and easy to work with. All in all, Vienna a La Carte's service was great.
