Cakes are yummy and interior design of Café Central is great. Gentleman playing piano adds to atmosphere. Loved it!

“Tourists must visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2014

Yes, it is touristy but it does have a great history. And the coffee is very good. We also had the 'toast with cheese and ham' which was made with far better ingredients than we found elsewhere - very tasty.

“A must visit place to Vienna”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2014

I visited cafe central after a long walk to the center of Vienna. It is placed in a great location and it looks very beautiful even before enter inside. When you do it, you will be very pleased for your choice. It looks great with a traditional Austrian atmosphere, where you can go with your friends or alone and rest for a while or read your newspaper. The lots of visitors there will not disturb you at all. The coffee i tasted was not the best, but you will find a very wide variety of sweets.

“Dining In A Piece Of History”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2014

This is a famous restaurant, where, some of the greats of the 19th and 20th centuries met and dined in magnificent splendour.

Both the outside and the inside of the building leave one in awe, as to their architectural excellence.

It is open all day and the extensive menu is typically Austrian, with large portions,.served by helpful waiters dressed in white and black outfits, a graceful throwback to when service was expected and received in a restaurant.

The food is excellent and reasonably priced and in the evening there is an excellent pianist playing wonderful music, all adding to the elegance of the occasion.

Well worth a visit.
You will thank me.

“Nice, but too many tourists”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2014

Definitely this is one of the places one should visit when staying in Vienna. Very nice coffee, pastries, sweets etc. we had also viennese schnitzel (18 euros i think). It was tasty, but i prefer the one from Landmann restaurant. Very very many tourists. We had to wait in line with like 20 other people, but the line was moving really fast, with the stuff handling all that crowd really good and fast. Generally nice experience. But for me it is for one time to visit in order to make your own opinion about the place. Would not visit it again ( not for the food which was really good, or the place which was really nice and stylish, but for all that crowd)
