Checked out of the awful Austria Trend Hotel Lassalle and moved here. Heard about it from a friend and so glad I did. Great location - walkable to all the main city attractions (opera house, Hofburg, Belvedere, etc) and beautiful. The hotel is 10 years old, but looks like new. The rooms are beatifully designed and modern- everything is fresh and clean. Great beds, great Moulton Brown bathroom amenities, beautiful European style tubs, FREE high speed wireless access, incredible breakfast buffet, fitness room/sauna, stylish restaurant and bar and super friendly staff. What more can I say. It's all good. I wish every hotel I stayed at in Europe measured up to Das Triest - it truly was a lovely experience. If you're coming to Austria and looking for a smaller modern boutique style hotel, stay here. Great for singles, couples, gay travellers and romantic getaways.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for two nights over a weekend. We were both quite apprehensive having never really visited much of europe but we didn`t need to worry.
It has been many years since I had German lessons at school but the locals spoke excellent English so although it was useful to decifer signs etc anyone could manage to order meals etc.

We chose to stay the weekend of the marathon and found much of the roads closed but even with the people this event attracted the city was a pleasant place to wander round. we found only food outlets and souvenir shops open for retail purposes on Sunday but our taxi driver from the airport told us Vienna has 84 museums so we were not short of things to do. The Spanish Riding School is highly recommended an excellent show and they don`t pack too many people in.

The hotel was clean and the staff so friendly and happy to help, again the language barrier was not an issue. I imagine when the hotel was refurbished it was absolutely fabulous it is now, however, in need of abit of TLC. Our room was large and comfortable but on the verge of getting slighly tatty and certainly the bathroom was careworn. The tap had been set so you had to use it as a shower I personally love a bath especially when I`ve been walking all day - it took a while but I ran it with the shower head!

We ate in the hotel resteraunt for one evening and the food was lovely and the service excellent. The breakfast buffet had a hugh choice and again the staff were very attentive with coffee top ups. The bar was very small but pleasant I attracted the attention of one barman who came to me to tell me he had never in his career served anyone Tia Maria with coke!! The measure were large and again the service top notch.

If you visit Vienna you must stay here. Ignore the other reviews and judge for yourself. Very sleek and stylish. We stayed in a Junior Suite and loved the decor and facilities. We've done the rest of Europe and this stands out. Staff friendly and brilliant. Get yourself into the silver bar and meet Keita the barman. Robbie Williams was so impressed he used him back stage on his Vienna and Budapest concerts. I can see why as his cocktails are mean and to be experienced. And what a friendly guy. If he's good enough for Robbie he's good enough for me. Food was excellent although Vienna itself has some top class restaurants. Overall 5 star.

We stayed here on our honeymoon in July 2005. The staff were so friendly, the breakfast was great (champagne every day!), the cocktail bar was very stylish. The area is not right in the middle of town, but the Opera is only a ten minute walk via the Karlskirche and it is in walking distance to the Naschmarkt and Schubert's house. There are some really cool bars round the corner in the 4th district where you can get a real feel of what it's like to live in this awesome city. We liked it so much that we have decided to return there this year for our first anniversary!
