We stayed here in May, 2007. We originally contacted their sister hotel, which was fully booked. The hotel was not far from Stephansplatz - we walked to the hotel from the subway station in Stephansplatz. Our room was probably the largest we had during our stay in Europe. We had a corner room with large windows. The bed was very comfortable. There was free wi-fi (I had a laptop with me for business reasons). The property was also very clean. One of the best features was the breakfast which is included with the room. The breakfast room is located on the top floor of the hotel - a bright, large, airy room. The breakfast was substantial - a large selection of breads, meats, cheese, fresh fruit, yougart, and even dessert items like chocolate cake and chocolate bars. Different selections of juices. The choice of eggs changed each day - scrambled, hard boiled, soft boiled. It was wonderful!
The hotel has an elevator. Like most in Europe, you could only fit about 4 people in it, but the size was never a problem.
The front desk personnel were very pleasant and helpful. You had to leave your room key at the front desk when going out. They took care of problems promptly. On our last night there, the group of girls in the next room were VERY loud when they came in at 1 a.m. I called down to the front desk so they could contact that room and quiet them down. They did this right away.
The only drawback for us was the size of the bathroom. It was about the size of a small closet. One person could fit in it at a time, unless someone was in the shower. That wasn't so much a problem for us, but the problem was there was no leg room between the toilet and the wall in front of the toilet. Because I'm tall (5'9"), this meant I had to have my right leg hanging out the bathroom door - so the door could never be shut while I was using the toilet. It wasn't a big enough inconvenience for us to request another room - we just had a good laugh each time one of us needed to use the bathroom.
What may be a drawback for others is that the walls must be pretty thin. We were there for 4 nights and did not have a problem until the last night. However, I don't know if anyone was in that room the first 3 nights we were there. A light sleeper may want to have earplugs. But, again, it didn't bother us and hotel staff was prompt in quieting the people in the next room.
We had a great time in Vienna and if we come back, we would stay here again.
