Owner description: The Cultural World Heritage Site of Schönbrunn Palace is Austria's most frequently visited tourist attraction. In the palace the residential and state rooms with their original furnishings and decorations convey an authentic impression of the imperial lifestyle. The park and gardens surrounding the palace make Schönbrunn in a unique synthesis of Baroque art as well as providing a convenient and highly popular recreational area for Vienna's population.

“Better in summer”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013 via mobile

I have visited Schönbrunn twice, once in summer and once in winter. Although it is much quieter in winter, it is a lot more beautiful when there are flowers in the gardens and leaves on the trees. It is truly a remarkable place. You can enjoy it from the outside without paying a fee, or take a tour inside for the architecture and the royal lifestyle which is quite interesting. Easily reachable by u-bahn so make sure you dont miss it!

“A Little Far from the City Center but Worth a Visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

We took a taxi from near the Kunsthistorisches Musem and it took about 15 minutes to get there and cost around 13 Euros. However, it was worth the trip. This palace is very simple and elegant and comes with an audioguide that is somewhat informational. The gardens, even in the dead of winter, were nice to stroll around. The statues and fountains were lovely and added a nice embiance/contrast to the dead trees. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to really see the grounds thoroughly or visit the zoo (which we heard was amazing)-we hope to visit again one day in spring to see all the flowers and trees in bloom, and to have some nicer weather.

“Outstanding palce and gounds”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

Fabulous palace inside and out with lovely grounds and loads of things to see, do and visit. Easy enough to get too and plenty to occupy a full day. Using the multi ticket with other Viennese palces on it enabled priority entry and saved a huge queue!

“You can be lost there for hours visiting the past...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

We spent hours there. Yes we made this big mistake and we didnt go for extended tour. We didnt see the gardens and that was a shame. We were quiet late so the place wasnt crowded at all. Tour was very informative and interesting. Long but not boring at all! Walking through all the room was unforgetable. We learned so much about just family life of Habsburgs. Its a history of a whole europe but mostly just one family and it was great. Even a bit intimate sometimes when you learn about life of Sisi and Franc Ferdinand.

i will be back and this time i will see the gardens!
