Owner description: The Cultural World Heritage Site of Schönbrunn Palace is Austria's most frequently visited tourist attraction. In the palace the residential and state rooms with their original furnishings and decorations convey an authentic impression of the imperial lifestyle. The park and gardens surrounding the palace make Schönbrunn in a unique synthesis of Baroque art as well as providing a convenient and highly popular recreational area for Vienna's population.

“Breath taking”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

Just had a great time walking about the huge property. The landscape, statues, waterfalls, buildings are a site to see. It is hard to put into words, one must visit to appreciate the Schloss Schonbrunn. It definitely is worth a full day's visit, we had to go back a second day so we could visit the zoo.

“Strudel and the Gardens”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

The best sites were the strudel demonstration and the gardens, including the labyrinth and mazes. If you're palaced-out, the tour of the imperial rooms is interesting, but crowded.

“Huge with beautiful grounds”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

Maybe we'd seen enough grandeur on this trip - but the palace didn't blow us away. We took a self guided tour and learned some about the Habsburgs. The real star is the grounds which encompass 500 acres. We wished we'd had more time to explore. We were told that a visit to the palace in the summer is difficult due to crowds. In late Sept the visit was very easy.

the palace was great, the gardens even more beautiful.
we went in summer however and the lines were long and it was very hot- see if it is possible to get tickets beforehand.

“Beautiful gardens”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

The Imperial tour gets you through the apartments of the royal family and is worth taking. It includes an audio tour. There is no charge to see the grounds! The gardens are beautiful and you can take the hike up to the Gloria. Don't sit at the cafe unless you intend to order or they will kick you out- oops!
